Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday 12th October where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
THE MARQUEE produced a promising debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He lost a length leaving the start, took time to find his feet but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. The son of William Longsword would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat.
JOHNNY BOY finished 5.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. His debut effort when third over this C&D was encouraging. With luck from the widest draw, he may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
EASTERN HIGHLANDS is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. His debut effort when fourth over this C&D was encouraging. From pole position, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 2
GREEN GLOW caught the eye when second on debut over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He lost a length leaving the start, took time to find his feet and ran on from far back. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Gimmethegreenlight would have gained from the experience and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he will be a big runner.
CHEERSCHEERSCHEERS finished third over 1800m on this course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. With a bit of luck from the wide draw, he should pose a threat.
LIGHT THE FIRE should have finished closer to the winner last time. The son of One World will love the rise to 1600m. He will strip much fitter and with luck in running, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 3
MISS TWINKLE was an impressive winner when shedding her maiden tag over this C&D last time. She showed a good turn of foot and won a lot easier than the official margin suggests. The daughter of Oratorio takes on stronger, but she has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
SPINMYANGELSSPIN fought hard for her maiden victory in her first start for Wengesai Masawi. She is a filly with plenty of scope and should produce an honest performance.
SASCHA‘S DREAM finished 1.2 lengths behind QUEEN AMINA last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She finished third in her only attempt over this distance and if not in need of the run, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 4
AGRADO stayed on at the finish over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of Global View gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of nine, he may be the one to cause the surprise.
CIRCUMBENDIBUS has good consistent form lines to his credit. He has won twice, finished second three times and third twice from 11 starts over this distance. The son of Vercingetorix merits healthy respect.
MIGHTY ZAMBEZI was not beaten far when seventh in the Grade 2 Follow @WorldPool on X Umkhomazi Stakes last time. He returns from an 11-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. He is likely to race on the speed from the wide draw and may be hard to peg back.
Race 5
This is a competitive A Stakes field and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is CATS PAJAMAS from the Frank Robinson stable. He ran on well when fourth in the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint last time. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
I AM GIANT is better than his last start in the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint. He won a good race in the Grade 3 Post Merchants in his penultimate outing. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
O’TENIKWA finished 0.95 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
Race 6
ON MY HONOUR took his place in the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Durban July last time. He returns from a 14- week break and is making his seasonal debut. He won his only attempt over this distance. This outing will bring him on for future races but he has the class to win.
WINTER GAMES ran a good race when second in the Listed Michel Nairac Appreciation Stakes Darley Arabian last time. He is ideally at his best over further but in this field, he is one of the leading contenders.
WHISPERING DEATH was an impressive winner in his last two starts before given a 28-week break. He would have strengthened up in his time off the track. The son of Danon Platina has plenty of scope and if not in need of the run, he should give a good account of himself.
Race 7
QUICKSTEPGAL is the best bet on the programme. She found one too good in the form of Anotherdanceforme in the Grade 2 SplashOut Golden Slipper last time. The daughter of Vercingetorix returns from a 14- week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She gets the services of 4kgs claiming Apprentice Dezahn Louw and should be too good for this field.
WARRIOR ROYALE is better than her last start as she was reported to be not striding out. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. She may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
MAGICAL VIEW has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She has cracked pole position and should earn another cheque for her patrons.
Race 8
This is a competitive Michaelmas Handicap field and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is JOHNNY THE THIEF from the MJ Odendaal stable. He ran a good race when fourth in the Grade 3 Magical Zulu Kingdom 2200 last time. He finished 1.15 lengths behind FIELD MARSHAL, three runs ago. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is ideally suited to this course and if not in need of the run, he should be competitive.
SHOOT THE RAPIDS ran a decent race when fourth in the Grade 3 World Pool Gold Cup last time. This outing will bring him on for future races but he has the class to be competitive.
GO GRAYSON GO was an easy winner of his last start over 2000m on this course. He faces a stiffer task here but has ability, and should produce another honest run.
Race 9
KANAAL SKATER followed up his maiden win with a decent fifth-place finish over 1200m on the polytrack. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he should love the rise to 1600m. He carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should be involved at the finish.
BUDDY BOY was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He takes on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
TURBO TWENTY was an easy winner of his last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He won his penultimate start over this distance on the Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Winter course. With a bit of luck in running, he can bring up the hat-trick.
Race 10
GOTTA GO EDDIE took a hold in the early stages of his last start over 1750m, but stayed on to finish fourth. The son of Gimmethegreenlight won his maiden over this distance on the polytrack, three runs ago. He jumps from pole position and if switching off early, he can notch up his second-career victory.
LUCKY DOLLAR has good recent form lines to his name. It must be noted that Golden Rule has come out and won again since. Marco van Rensburg is likely to use his early gate speed from the widest draw and he may be hard to peg back.
KIMBALL O’HARA finished 1.3 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish
