Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday 15th March where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
CHERRYBLOSSOMPINK produced an eye-catching debut effort over 1000m on this course. She understandably raced green, but was on the pace before getting touched off by Japura. The daughter of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and she is bred to love the rise to 1200m. With the natural improvement that is expected, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
ANUSHKA finished 1.7 lengths behind the top choice last time. The daughter of Declarationofpeace will love the rise to 1200m and she should pose a threat.
ROYAL CREST showed good improvement when second over 1000m on this course last time. The daughter of Red Ray is a progressive type and may have more to come.
Race 2
PEACH MELBA moved up like a winner over this C&D last time before getting outrun late by Past Is Prologue. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She meets a similar field this afternoon and can go one better.
SIYABAMBELELA finished 1.6 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
LUTHANDO finished 2.3 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. The daughter of Hawwaam would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. She is a filly with scope and cannot be discounted.
Race 3
FLEUR DE LING raced from just off the pace over this C&D last time, tried hard but found one too good in the form of Sovereign Gem. The daughter of New Predator is a progressive type and in this field, she can shed her maiden tag.
HIGHVELD STORM ran a good race when second over 1200m on this course last time. That was his first start for the Dominic Zaki stable. He gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming Apprentice Girish Samo-Burthia which should assist his cause. He is carded to race on 11 March 2026 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.
CAPTIVE PRINCE is an unraced son of Captain Of All from the Tony Rivalland stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. He is related to three-time winner Celtic Beauty. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to his chances.
Race 4
SPINMYANGELSSPIN produced a fair comeback run over this distance on the polytrack. She lost a length leaving the start, but stayed on to finish sixth. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. On best form shown, she should go close to winning.
GORGEOUS GIRL fought hard to win her last start over this C&D. The daughter of William Longsword received a two-pound penalty for that victory. She is in a good space and with luck in running, she can feature.
IZIBULO was her own worst enemy last time as she over raced in the early stages. She does have a wide draw to overcome, but gets the services of Gavin Lerena who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
Race 5
GO GRAYSON GO ran a good race when second in the Non-Black Type umThombothi Stakes last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Calvin Habib is likely to use his early gate speed to overcome the widest draw and he may be hard to peg back.
FRENCH TRIP held on where it matters most to win his last start over 1750m on this course. He is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. The son of Trippi should get a good run in transit from barrier two and is one of the leading contenders.
ACTOR finished 0.3 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
Race 6
TYRCONNELL finished 0.4 lengths behind MISTER NIBBLES last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has won twice, finished second once and third three times from seven starts on this course. Gavin Lerena rides and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
MISTER NIBBLES tried hard when second over 1500m on this course last time. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
MASTER DU ROUVRAY was touched off in his last start over 1950m on this course. He won his penultimate outing over this distance. With a bit of luck in running, he should produce another honest effort.
Race 7
OKAVANGO was far from disgraced when fourth in the Grade 1 WSB Cape Town Met last time. He has won twice and finished third once from four starts over this distance. The son of Master Of My Fate is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Despite his big weight of 63kgs, he should have a big winning chance.
KING PELLES won a good race in the Non-Black Type umThombothi Stakes last time. The son of Duke Of Marmalade does prefer further but is a classy individual and merits obvious consideration.
IMPOSING has won his last two starts with ease. Two of his nine career victories have come on this course. He is in a good space and is a solid back-up for the Gareth van Zyl stable.
Race 8
CALL ME JANE finished 0.3 lengths behind CAPTAIN VENTURA last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Querari will be mowing down the frontrunners and can return to winning ways.
CAPTAIN VENTURA held on where it matters most to win her last start over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She is unbeaten from two starts in the cheekpieces and will be looking to keep that record intact.
VISION TO ACHIEVE‘S last three starts have been good. She finished 0.3 lengths behind the second choice in the race referred to above. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
Race 9
AGRADO‘S last start is best ignored as he jumped awkwardly, lost 4 lengths and was not persevered with. The son of Global View has won once and finished third twice from four starts over this C&D. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie rides and on previous form, he should have a winning chance.
CIRCUMBENDIBUS finished 2.1 lengths behind CITY OF LOVE last time. He is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.
MAJOR TOMMIE should have finished closer to the winner last time. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from five starts over this C&D. Gavin Lerena rides and he should produce another honest effort.
Race 10
JANE‘S VISION was caught late when second over this C&D last time. She should have won that day as she hung inwards and shifted in the closing stages. It is encouraging that Rachel Venniker steps back into the saddle. If keeping on a straight line, she can return to winning ways.
PURPLE POWAHOUSE finished 0.1 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today. The 9yo gelding will be mowing down the frontrunners at the finish.
CAPPELLINO is in good form heading into this contest. All three of his career victories have come over this distance. Calvin Habib retains the ride and the pair merit respect
