Winning Form selections for racing from Turffontein on Saturday 1st November where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
Race 1
MAJOR ARCANA is one of the better bets on the programme. He produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course. The son of Ideal World would have gained from the experience. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and with the natural improvement that is expected, he can shed his maiden tag.
TINTIN finished fourth on debut over 1200m at the Vaal. He was reported to be not striding out that day. The son of Rafeef returns from a 28-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. If not in need of the run, he should be competitive.
WITCH HAZEL ran a decent race on debut over 1200m at the Vaal. It must be noted that African Pride has come out and won again since. Richard Fourie is booked to ride, and the son of Hawwaam should make the natural progression.
Race 2
QUIET WINTER showed speed over 1200m at the Vaal last time, but found one too good in the form of Lost For Words. She finished third in both her efforts over this C&D. The daughter of What A Winter is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. She is drawn on the right side of the course and can go one better.
VAMANOS showed good improvement when second over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She is a progressive type and is one of the leading contenders. She is carded to race on 28 October 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
STONE OF SCONE was her own worst enemy over further last time as she over raced in the early stages. She is having her peak run and should be cherry-ripe. She may be at her best over this distance at this stage of her career and must be considered.
Race 3
CHARMING CHEETAH showed good signs of a form return when second over 1200m on the Inside course last time. The manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. The son of New Predator won on debut over this C&D. He takes on older rivals but carries a handy galloping mass of 53.5kgs. Rachel Venniker steps back into the saddle and he may be the one to side with.
CHIEFTAIN is a winner of his last two starts over this C&D. He returns from a well-deserved 14-week break. Gavin Lerena retains the ride, and if not in need of the run, he can notch up the hat-trick.
QUANTUM THEORY is better than his last start in the Grade 2 Betway Joburg Spring Challenge. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. On previous form, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.
Race 4
ALENTINA BALDUCCI is better than her last start in the Grade 2 Betway Joburg Spring F & M Challenge. The manner in which she finished off her penultimate run when victorious over 1450m on the Inside course, catches the eye. The daughter of Skitt Skizzle looks to have ability. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from her awkward draw of nine and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
TINA LOVELACE found one too good in the form of Golden Palm in the Grade 1 Douglas Whyte Thekwini Stakes last time. She is carded to race on 23 October 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
ELEGANTRIX tried hard when second in the Grade 2 World Pool With Race Coast Debutante last time, but was touched off by Princess Of Gaul. She has won once and finished third once from three starts on this course. She is carded to race on 23 October 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
Race 5
TIN PAN ALLEY finished strongly when winning his last start in the Grade 2 Betway Joburg Spring Challenge. The son of The United States won his only attempt over this C&D, last season. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but gets the services of top jockey Gavin Lerena who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle. He has class about him and can notch up his fourth-career victory.
MIAMI MOUNTAIN followed up his maiden win with an impressive victory over 1200m on the Inside course. The son of Canford Cliffs is a progressive type and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
ZALATORIS finished 1.5 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
Race 6
HAT’S QUEEN was a beaten favourite in the Non-Black Type Blue Sky Thoroughbreds KwaZulu-Natal Breeders 1900 last time. She was not disgraced in the Grade 2 Tote Woolavington 2000 in her penultimate run. She returns from a 19-week break and is having her first run this season. She has won once and finished second once from three starts over this trip. If not in need of the run, she can return to winning ways.
WORLD OF ALICE is better than her last start in the Grade 3 Tote Oaks. She has won twice, finished second four times and third twice from 10 starts on this course. She is carded to race on 23 October 2025 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
LADY FALLON showed signs of needing her last start over 1600m on the Inside course. She is at her best on the longer straight. With a bit of luck from her wide draw, she should be involved at the finish.
Race 7
CALLMEGETRIX was given a peach of a ride when winning the Grade 2 Betway Joburg Spring F & M Challenge last time. She has won three times, finished second once and third three times from eight starts over this distance. She jumps from barrier four with a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs. Muzi Yeni is booked to ride, and the daughter of Vercingetorix should give the males a run for their money.
CONFEDERATE was an impressive winner of his last start over 1450m on this course. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. He has the early gate speed to overcome the wide draw without using up too much energy and may be hard to peg back.
ATTICUS FINCH ran on strongly when second in the Grade 2 Betway Joburg Spring Challenge last time. This run will bring him to his peak for the Grade 1 Betway Summer Cup at the end of November. He is drawn in pole position and merits healthy respect.
Race 8
UNITED COUNCIL produced a typical second run after a rest in the Non-Black Type Allez France Stakes last time. She finished 3.7 lengths behind MO MENT in her penultimate run. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She has won four times and finished third once from seven starts over this C&D. On best form shown, she can notch up her seventh- career victory.
MO MENT is a winner of his last two starts. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in his last outing has come out and won since. He is likely to get his own way in front once again and can bring up the hat-trick.
BREEZE OVER ran a decent race over 1800m on the Vaal Classic course last time. He finished 6.5 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run. He is 4kgs better off at the weights and should finish closer.
Race 9
LET’S GO LOLA is better than her last start in the Grade 2 World Pool With Race Coast Debutante. She returns from a 14-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She has finished third in both her efforts on this course. The daughter of Hat Puntano carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs in her handicap debut. She is drawn on the right side of the course and may be the one to beat.
PERFECT MIRACLE is unbeaten from two starts to date. She showed speed over 1200m on the Inside course last time and lasted long enough. She has plenty of scope and can keep her unbeaten record intact.
KINDRED HEART stayed on when third over 1200m at the Vaal last time. She would have come on from the outing and will strip much fitter. The daughter of Erupt will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 10
CAPTAIN SELVIE followed up her maiden victory with a good second-place finish over 1000m on this course. She showed speed but found one too good in the form of My One And Only. She returns from a 25-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. Gavin Lerena rides on her return and if fit, she may be the one to beat.
UNITED OFFER got up on the line when winning on debut over 1200m at the Vaal. The daughter of The United States takes on stronger, but she could be anything and may be up to the task at hand.
TUSCAN ROMANCE followed up her maiden win with a decent second-place finish over 1000m at the Vaal. She is drawn on the outside of the course and merits healthy respect
