Winning Form selections for racing from Turffontein on Sunday 26th October where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
Race 1
MONKEY PUZZLE has finished second in his three starts on the Highveld. He found one too good in the form of subsequent winner African Pride last time. He has finished second once and third once from three starts over this distance. From a good draw of two, he may be rewarded for consistency.
SPACE MISSION stayed on at the finish when fourth over 1200m at the Vaal last time. The son of Willow Magic has scope and should enjoy the step up to 1400m. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of nine, he should pose a threat.
CARNARVON has finished fourth in his last three starts. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. Richard Fourie is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
Race 2
ANAHITA produced a promising debut effort over 1450m on the Inside course. She moved up well before getting outrun late. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The daughter of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to beat. She is drawn wide in barrier 10 but gets the services of Muzi Yeni who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
PALACE SCRIPT showed some signs of needing her debut effort over 1200m at the Vaal. She will enjoy the rise to 1400m and the booking of S’manga Khumalo is a plus. With luck in running, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
WAR TALK ran a fair race over 1450m last time. She will strip much fitter and with Craig Zackey back in the saddle, she would not be a shock winner.
Race 3
THE EQUATOR was an impressive winner of his last start over 1800m on this course. The son of Galileo returns from a 12-week break which may have done him the world of good. He has found some betting support in the ante-post betting market for the Betway Summer Cup. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie is booked to ride this afternoon and if not in need of the run, he may be the one to beat.
PARISIAN WALKWAY stayed on nicely when third over this distance on the Inside course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He will strip much fitter and is one of the leading contenders.
BEYNAC was an easy winner over this distance on the Inside course last time. He does have work to do at the weights, but is in a good space and can finish in the placings.
Race 4
OLIVIA’S WAY is better than her last start in the Grade 2 Betway Joburg Spring F & M Challenge as she was reported to be not striding out. She won her only attempt over this C&D. Muzi Yeni steps into the saddle and she should strip much fitter. On best form shown, she may be the one to beat.
SON OF RAJ is better than his last start in the Grade 1 HKJC Champions Cup. He returns from a 13-week break and makes his seasonal debut. Richard Fourie is booked to ride from the widest draw. With luck in running, he should be involved at the finish.
MARAUDING HORDE was in need of his comeback run over 1600m on the Inside course. He has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. He will strip much fitter and from a good draw of two, he can find a form return.
Race 5
AVOONTOAST moved up well over this distance on the Inside course last time before getting outrun late by Kissing Machine. She has won once and finished third twice from five starts on this course. She has cracked a good draw of two and may be the one to side with.
FUTURE DATE showed good guts and determination when winning her last start over 1800m at the Vaal. She finished 2 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate run. She is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
FREE IN SEATTLE finished 1.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. She moved up well before getting outrun late that day. Philasande Mxoli retains the ride, and the pair merit healthy respect.
Race 6
Trainer Joe Soma holds a strong hand in this contest and can saddle the first two past the post. HOLLYWOOD MADAM raced from a handy position over 1800m at the Vaal last time and stayed on to finish third. The daughter of What A Winter will enjoy the step up to 2000m. It is encouraging that Craig Zackey is booked to ride, and she can notch up her second-career victory.
DAMOVA was an easy winner of her last start over 2400m at the Vaal. Interestingly, Craig Zackey who won on her that day has opted to ride the top selection. She is at her best over further, but is in a good space and cannot be ignored.
BOOM BOOM stayed on when fourth over 1800m at the Vaal last time. She drops back in class and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 7
BUFFALO STORM CODY won a good race in the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint last time. He set the pace, found another kick and won well. The son of Buffalo Bill Cody won his only attempt over this C&D. Richard Fourie rides on his seasonal debut and he can notch up his sixth-career victory.
GREATERIX showed signs of needing his comeback run over 1450m on the Inside course. The drop to 1160m may do the trick. On best form shown, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
FIRE ATTACK finished strongly in the Grade 1 HKJC Champions Cup last time. He returns from a 13-week break and makes his seasonal debut. He may be in need of this outing and the run will bring him on for future races. However, he has the class to have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 8
XENOPHON followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over 1200m at the Vaal. He moved up well that day before getting outrun late by Hong Kong. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. The son of Vercingetorix is in a good space and may be the one to beat.
BUMPS LAST GRIND is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. On previous form, he should be involved at the finish.
HIS LORDSHIP showed speed when winning over 1000m on the Vaal Classic course last time. He received a six-pound penalty for that victory. He is in a good space and may be hard to peg back
