Update, meeting abandoned due to rain. Winning Form selections for racing from Turffontein on Thursday 6th November where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
Race 1
TRAIL RUNNER was running on when second over 1200m on the Vaal Classic course last time. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to 1450m. She returns from a 15-week break and if not in need of the run, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
BABETTE‘S FEAST made the expected natural improvement when third over 1600m on the Vaal Classic course last time. She returns from a 14-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. If jumping on terms, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
WINTER WEDDING has improved in work rider races in her last two starts. She gets the services of capable work rider Phelisile Mongqawa. The daughter of What A Winter has scope and she should be right there.
Race 2
ROBERT BROWNING was an easy winner of his last start over 1800m on the Vaal Classic course. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He meets a similar line-up this afternoon and from his good draw of three, he can follow up with another victory.
EIGER SANCTION fought hard for his last victory over this distance on the Vaal Classic course. He finished 5.5 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. He is carded to race on 30 October 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.
PAGE BOY produced a strong finish when winning his last start over 1800m at the Vaal. He is carded to race on 30 October 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.
Race 3
COUNCILLOR stayed on at the finish over this distance on the Vaal Classic course last time, but found one too good in the form of Ethical. The daughter of Rafeef is a progressive individual and carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs. She will be mowing down the frontrunners under Richard Fourie.
KAVOMOLKA showed improvement when third over this C&D last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He is coming along the right way and from pole position, he should be the first male past the post.
GAVIUS MAXIMUS found one too good in the form of Onetwobucklemyshoe last time. The son of The United States should enjoy the rise to 1800m. He has scope and should be involved in the fight to the finish.
Race 4
ANAHITA is the best bet on the programme. She took the lead at the 500m mark last time, but found one too good in the form of Grace’s Kiss. The well-bred daughter of Vercingetorix is a progressive type and should love the rise to 1800m. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and the combination should take a power of beating.
FRANGIPANI took the lead at the 400m mark last time before getting touched off by Hazy Dazy who has come out and won again since. She tries the 1800m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should fight out the finish.
BLOOD OF EDEN set the pace over 1600m last time before getting outrun late by Drumnadrochit. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the daughter of Heavenly Blue. If confirming her recent improvement, she may be hard to peg back.
Race 5
HAZY DAZY is a winner of her last three starts. She loved the rise to 2000m on the Standside course last time. She took the lead at the 400m mark that day and was geared down in the closing stages. The daughter of Act Of War looks to be above average and from pole position, she should be the one to beat.
KISSING MACHINE stayed on when fourth in the Non-Black Type Allez France Stakes last time. She has won twice and finished second once from four starts on this course. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from her awkward draw of eight and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
AZALEAS FOR ALL finished 1 length behind FUTURE DATE last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that may be enough for the tables to be turned. She runs well for Gavin Lerena and cannot be ignored.
Race 6
DRUMNADROCHIT won a game race on debut over 1600m on this course. She raced from a handy position and found extra where it matters most. The daughter of Rafeef found betting support that day which suggests that she was showing good work at home. She takes on stronger, but Richard Fourie has made the trip up to ride her and she could be anything.
ONETWOBUCKLEMYSHOE showed good improvement when winning her maiden over 1600m on this course. The well-bred daughter of Master Of My Fate is a progressive type and she may be up to the task at hand.
MATCHA MINT followed up her maiden victory with a decent fourth-place finish over 1600m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She is back against her own sex and must be considered.
Race 7
PALACE ATTACK followed up his maiden victory with a good second-place finish over 1400m at the Vaal. He challenged strongly all the way to the line but found one too good in the form of Echo Check. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He should have no issues with the rise to 1600m and with luck in running, he should be a big runner.
FRERE JACQUES stayed on when fourth over this C&D last time. He was reported to have choked up that day. The son of Louis The King has scope and he is one of the leading contenders.
OMBUDSMAN finished 0.7 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
Race 8
PEACE TREATY caught the eye when second over 1800m on the Vaal Classic course last time. He was settled at the rear of the field and ran on well. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. Serino Moodley retains the ride from a good draw of two, and he can go one better.
CHABAL quickened up well when winning his last start over this distance on the Vaal Classic course. He gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming Apprentice Girish Samo-Burthia which will assist his cause. He is carded to race on 04 November 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.
HAT FURIOUS finished 2.5 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough for the tables to be turned
