Race 1

BELLEROPHON produced a promising debut effort over 1400m on this course. He understandably raced green but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He is carded to race on 25 September 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

NEBRASKA was in need of his debut effort over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course. He would have come on from the run and will love the rise in distance. He is carded to race on 25 September 2025 and his progress in that race will need to be followed.

TRIP TO STATES has been disappointing in his last two starts. It must be noted that Greenlight Racer has come out and won again since. On best form shown, he can feature. He is carded to race on 25 September 2025.

Race 2

ICONIC WINTER was a tad disappointing over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. On her previous two efforts, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

MAGIC CARPET RIDE ran a fair race on debut over 1160m at Turffontein. She returns from a 16-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. If not in need of the outing, she should pose a threat with Craig Zackey retaining the ride.

DUCHESS OF PALOMA returns from a 23-week break and is having her first run on the Highveld. Her last three starts in the Western Cape were decent. If fit and well, she should give a good account of herself.

Race 3

VAMANOS ran a good race when second over 1450m on the Classic course last time. She raced from a handy position before getting outrun late by Fire In Her Soul. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight should not have any issues with the drop to 1200m. She is having her peak run and with Muzi Yeni in the saddle, she may be the horse to beat.

LOST FOR WORDS ran a fair race when second over 1160m at Turffontein last time. She was returning from a 67-week break that day. The daughter of Canford Cliffs will strip much fitter and she is one of the leading contenders.

QUIET WINTER showed some signs of needing her last start over 1160m at Turffontein. She will strip much fitter and on her first two career outings, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 4

AFRICAN PRIDE was considered good enough to take his chances in the Grade 1 Gold Medallion last time. He was reported to be fatigued that day. The son of Rafeef produced a promising debut effort over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He would have strengthened up during his time off the track and back in Maiden Company, he may be the horse to beat.

MONKEY PUZZLE has finished second in his last two starts. He took the lead at the 200m mark last time before getting caught late by Trust. He will be at peak fitness and can go close.

JABARI THIMBA was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1400m at Turffontein. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has been gelded which may do the trick. The son of Pathfork has scope and can feature.

Race 5

WINDS OF GRACE has finished second in her last three starts, the latest of which was over this distance on the Classic course. It must be noted that Greenlight Racer has come out and won again since. She gets the services of Girish Samo-Burthia who takes the 4kgs off her back. She is having her peak run and may be rewarded for consistency.

RED SECRET produced a promising debut effort over 1200m on this course. She took time to find her feet but stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Erik The Red would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1500m. She should make the natural improvement.

FRANGIPANI was running on when third over 1700m on this course last time. The daughter of Master Of My Fate is coming along the right way and she can go close.

Race 6

SAIGON SUZIE was an easy winner of her last start over 1450m on the Classic course. She raced from a handy position, showed a good turn of foot and won with a ton in hand. Chase Maujean retains the ride, and the combination merit healthy respect.

GLOBAL THUNDER is better than her last start as she was squeezed leaving the start and was reported to be not striding out. On previous form, she should be involved at the finish.

ALPINE JET followed up her debut win with a good second-place finish over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course. She is at her best over this distance at this stage of her career and must be considered.

Race 7

TAEGAN‘S CHAMP is unbeaten from three starts. The son of Gimmethegreenlight returns from a lengthy 89-week break. He may need the outing but has plenty of class about him. Apprentice Girish Samo- Burthia takes the 4kgs off the back which will assist his cause. If not in need of the run, he can keep his unbeaten record intact.

PRESSONREGARDLESS is a winner of his last two starts. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. With racing fitness on his side, he should be competitive.

POTBERRIE set the pace over 1600m on the Turffontein Inside course last time, but found one too good in the form of Max The Magician. He finished 5.25 lengths behind the second choice in his penultimate run. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

Race 8

MAMLAMBO made the expected natural improvement when shedding her maiden tag over this distance at Turffontein. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She returns from a 14-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. The daughter of Canford Cliffs takes on stronger, but she has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
