Race 1
GIMMETHEJACKHAMMER showed speed over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Time Of Our Lives. The son of Gimmethegreenlight looks to be a progressive individual and in this line-up, he may be hard to peg back.
FAIR FATE showed good improvement when second over 1000m on this course last time. He was reported to be distressed that day. The son of Master Of My Fate steps back up to 1250m and if confirming his recent improvement, he should pose a threat.
PREMIER WINTER produced a typical second run after a rest last time. He finished second over this C&D in his penultimate outing. The son of What A Winter is fitted with cheekpieces which may keep his mind on the task at hand.
Race 2
SAUTERELLE should have finished closer to the winner on debut over this C&D as she had to be switched for running room at the 100m mark. The daughter of Futura would have gained from the experience and Richard Fourie steps into the saddle. She is drawn in pole position and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.
CAPTAIN’S LASS was a beaten odds-on favourite over 1000m on this course last time. Her penultimate run when second behind She’s Chosen was encouraging. If putting her best foot forward, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
PRINCESS SOFIA returns from a 22-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. Her debut effort when third over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth catches the eye. She is a filly with scope and cannot be discounted.
Race 3
GETORIX PRINCESS produced a promising debut effort over 1400m on this course. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The slight concern is the drop to 1250m. However, with the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to beat.
CYDONIA was outrun late when fourth on debut over this C&D. The daughter of One World would have gained from the experience and with luck in running, she should fight out the finish.
A THOUSAND STARS was in need of her debut effort over this C&D. She was green in running and had to be steadied at the 100m mark. The daughter of Hawwaam would have come on from the run and should make the natural progression.
Race 4
HEY JACK YOUR LATE ran a good race on debut over this C&D. He took time to find his feet, but the manner in which he stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The son of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he can go one better.
BULLET TOOTH TONY has shown good improvement in each of his efforts to date. He drops back to 1250m which is a slight concern. However, he is coming along the right way and should go close.
VELORIAN KING showed improvement when third over 1000m on this course last time. The manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will enjoy the rise to 1250m. The son of Master Of My Fate is a progressive type and with luck in running, he can feature.
Race 5
EIGHT ON EIGHTEEN won a good race in the Grade 1 HKJC Champions Cup last time. He returns from a 12- week break and makes his seasonal debut. The son of Lancaster Bomber is at his best over further but he is the class horse, and should be too good for this field.
HAH LAH LAH was an impressive winner in his last start over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He won over this distance, four runs ago. The son of Hawwaam clearly has class about him and if taking to this track, he should run a big race.
RANDOLPH HEARST returns from a 27-week break. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this distance. On best form shown, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 6
CONTINUE THE DREAM was an impressive winner on debut over this C&D. He took time to find his feet, but showed a good turn of foot and won with a ton in hand. The well-bred son of Gimmethegreenlight is related to multiple Grade 1 winners. He does take on stronger company, but could be anything and can remain unbeaten.
LOVING PRAGUE has finished second in his last two starts over this C&D. He is in a good space and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
LE SOLEIL showed good improvement when shedding his maiden tag at the second time of asking. The well- bred son of Vercingetorix will love the rise to 1400m. He has plenty of scope and with luck in running, he should give a good account of himself.
Race 7
VERSE FOR SUZANNE made the expected natural improvement when shedding her maiden tag over 1400m on this course. The well-bred daughter of Vercingetorix will love the rise to 1600m. She does take on stronger, but carries a handy galloping mass of 52.5kgs and should be up to the task at hand.
KITUBA stayed on when third over 1400m on this course last time. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will enjoy the rise to 1600m. From her good draw of two, she is one of the leading contenders.
LARK’S SONG is the stable companion of the second selection. She produced a good comeback run when third over 1250m on this course. The daughter of Querari would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter.
RACE 8
MAGMA FLOW raced wide around the turn in the Grade 3 Matchem Stakes last time and faded badly in the straight. His penultimate run when sixth over this C&D, catches the eye. He is having his peak run and should be cherry-ripe. The son of Erupt takes a big drop in class and on best form shown, he can cause an upset.
ULEZ CAMERA followed up his debut victory with a good second-place finish over 1250m on this course. The son of Erik The Red gets the services of Richard Fourie. He has plenty of scope and a big effort is expected.
ALL ABOUT AL was outrun late when fifth over this C&D last time. Apprentice Sifisokuhle Bungane takes the 2.5kgs off his back which will assist his cause. The 9yo gelding always gives of his best and merits obvious consideration.
RACE 9
TURN TO THE LAW won a good race on debut over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She returns from a 16-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. The daughter of Legislate takes on stronger, but she could be anything. With luck in running, she can remain unbeaten.
EASY MONEY tired late over 1250m on this course last time. She won her penultimate outing over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth with ease. She is likely to race on the speed from her awkward draw and will be hard to peg back.
HERITAGE RIDGE ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. She finished 4.75 lengths behind the second selection in her penultimate run. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result
