Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Greyville on Friday 17th April where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
This is a weak Open Maiden contest and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is PRINS JASPAR from the Andre Nel stable. He ran a fair race over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time. The son of Gimmethegreenlight has scope and if taking to the polytrack, he can shed his maiden tag in this field.
OWNER OF CREATION is still a maiden after 27 starts. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
WILLIAM OF ORANGE has been disappointing in recent form. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. He carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and may be the one to cause the surprise.
Race 2
VIXENS WAR was her own worst enemy last time as she over raced in the early stages and hung outwards in the final 400m. The daughter of Act Of War is having her first run in KwaZulu-Natal. If taking to the surface, she can shed her maiden tag.
VAANS SPIRIT was a tad disappointing over 1200m last time. Her previous two efforts under Keagan de Melo were good. She is a filly with scope and should pose a massive threat.
A M C ROSE was in need of her debut effort over 1000m on this course. She would have come on from the outing and steps up to the mile. The daughter of Time Thief would have come on from the run and she should make the natural improvement.
Race 3
GIMME THE TRUTH showed some improvement when third over 2000m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. The son of Gimmethegreenlight may be ideally suited to this distance. If Chad Little is able to switch him off early, he may be the one to beat.
PEEPING TOM was outrun when second over 1900m on the turf last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. Rachel Venniker retains the ride and he should pose a threat.
FIRE FORCE finished 1.6 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 4
FINE WINE has finished second in her last two starts, the latest of which was over this distance on the turf. She has finished second twice and third once from four starts on this course. The daughter of Futura is likely to be settled near the rear of the field and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
PSYCHE finished 1.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1kg worse off at the weights and may have to settle for the same result.
PROM QUEEN ran on from last when third over 1600m on this course last time. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight tries the 1900m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should fight out the finish.
Race 5
LOU LOU THE LEGEND is better than his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. It must be noted that Gorgeous Girl as well as the second horse have come out and won since. The 6yo gelding returns to his favourite surface and he will be finishing strongly.
PROFESSOR LUPIN was a tad disappointing over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. He has won once and finished third once from four starts over this C&D. He jumps from pole position and if putting his best foot forward, he can go close.
MAC HARDY finished 3.25 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 6
EIGHT HATS hails from the visiting Paul Matchett stable. Her last three starts have been fair. The daughter of Hat Puntano has dropped to a competitive rating. 2.5kgs claiming Apprentice Damyan Pillay retains the ride and if taking to the surface, she can return to winning ways.
QUINN’S TIME was unlucky not to have won his last start over this distance on the turf. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should be the first male past the post.
ULTRA QUICK finished 2.25 lengths behind INDECENT PROPOSAL last time. He is 3.5kgs better off at the weights and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
Race 7
MASTEROFTHEDESERT ran a good race when second over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. He showed good speed and tried hard all the way to the line. It must be noted that What A Fortune has come out and finished third in the Non-Black Type Race Coast Sales Big Cap since. He takes a drop in class and if all went well with his travels, he can go one better.
SUPER FAST ran a good race when fourth over this C&D last time. He returns from a 14-week break which may have done him the world of good. If not in need of the run, he should pose a massive threat.
IBUTHO has good consistent form lines to his name. He has won twice, finished second once and third twice from eight starts over this C&D. The 8yo gelding will be mowing down the frontrunners at the finish.
Race 8
DAWN SURPRISE has top consistent form lines to her credit. She raced from just off the pace over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time and stayed on to finish third. She has won twice and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. 4kgs claiming Apprentice Divesh Ramkhalawon retains the ride from pole position, and she can notch up her sixth-career victory.
TEQUILA SKY was running on when third over this C&D last time. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter.
DE VLUGGE is the stable companion of the top choice. She is a winner of her last two starts over 1400m on this course. Her record over this trip is a slight concern, but she is in a good space, and can bring up the hat-trick
