Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: LADY HARLEQUIN (4)
Jockey: C Zackey – Trainer: C/T Dawson

LADY HARLEQUIN is one of the better bets on the card. She showed speed in the Grade 3 TAB Pretty Polly Stakes last time, but found one too good in the form of Get Up who has won a Grade 2 since. The daughter of What A Winter returns to Maiden Company and with Craig Zackey in the saddle, she should take a power of beating.

Race 6: ERROL FLYNN (3)
Jockey: K de Melo – Trainer: J Soma

ERROL FLYNN is one of the best bets on the programme. He was an impressive winner of his last start over this C&D. After a slow start, he was settled near the rear of the field and finished strongly. The son of Master Of My Fate won easier than the official margin suggests. The blinkers remain fitted and from his handy draw of five, he can follow up with another victory.

Top Bet For Today

Race 8: GRAND EMPIRE (3)
Jockey: C Zackey – Trainer: S Tarry

GRAND EMPIRE is the top bet on the programme. He was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start in the Grade 1 HKJC World Pool SA Classic. The son of Vercingetorix returns from a well-deserved 13-week break which would have done him the world of good. He has won over this distance previously. He carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs and should take a power of beating.

Race 9: TINTIN (1)
Jockey: C Zackey – Trainer: S Tarry

TINTIN raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Errol Flynn. The son of Rafeef takes a drop in class and with luck from the widest draw, he can return to winning ways.

Value Bet For Today

Race 5: LIFE IN COLOUR (2)
Jockey: M Michel – Trainer: C Spies

LIFE IN COLOUR was an easy winner when shedding his maiden tag over this distance at the Vaal last time. He set the pace, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. The son of Malmoos takes on stronger, but he is a progressive type and may be up to the task at hand
