Winning Form selections for racing from the Vaal on Thursday 18th June where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge

Race 1

COVER CHARGE ran a fair race over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. He should have finished closer to the winner as he hung outwards in the final 300m. The son of Erik The Red gets the services of Savanna Valjalo who takes the 1.5kgs off his back. He is a progressive type and may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

VIXENINTHEVINEYARD stayed on when fifth over 1800m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. Should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

BEACH WALKER has some decent recent form to his credit. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in his last start has come out and won since. If putting his best foot forward, he should be competitive.

Race 2

BE THE ONE has faced winners in both her efforts to date. She showed some improvement when fifth over 1200m on this course last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She is a progressive type and in maiden company, she may be the one to beat.

IMPRESSIVE has not finished too far off the winner in her last four starts. She is back on the Highveld and is one of the leading contenders.

TREX ON FIRE has produced two good runs to date. She set the pace over 1600m last time before getting outrun late. She is a progressive type and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, she may be hard to peg back.

Race 3

HIGH FIDELITY produced a promising debut effort over 1160m at Turffontein. He raced from just off the pace and stayed on to finish third. The son of Vercingetorix would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to beat.

LUCKY AWESOME finished 0.05 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.

RAPTOR KING is better than his last start as the saddle was reported to have slipped in running. His debut effort when third over 1200m on this course was eye- catching. He is a horse with scope and cannot be discounted.

Race 4

WAYNE is better than his last two starts suggest, the latest of which was in the Non-Black Type TAB Egoli Mile. The son of Vercingetorix has dropped in the ratings. His last victory came over 1475m on this course. He won his only attempt over this C&D. He gets the cheekpieces fitted for the first time and if the headgear has the desired effect, he can return to winning ways.

MASTERSHIP was given a peach of a ride when winning the Non-Black Type WSB Grand Heritage last time. He returns from a well- deserved 26-week break which would have done him the world of good. If not in need of the run, he should go close.

FULLY LOADED took the lead at the 400m mark last time and found more to keep all challengers at bay. He returns from an 11-week break and if fit, he can follow up with another victory.

Race 5

GREEN MACHINE is the top bet on the programme. He followed up his maiden win with an equally impressive victory over this distance on the Classic course. The son of Gimmethegreenlight has no stamina issues, is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.

DJ JUNIOR finished 1.1 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.

PECIAL STAR finished 3.85 lengths behind the top choice in the race referred to above. She is 1kg better off at the weights today which is not enough to turn the form around, but she should finish closer.

Race 6

TWENTYTWENTYVISION challenged strongly over this distance at Turffontein last time, but found one too good in the form of Umzingeli Wenyathi. He finished 2.05 lengths behind IT’S PERSONAL in his penultimate outing. He is 6.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.

IT’S PERSONAL should have finished closer last time as he hung in the final 400m. He won his penultimate outing over this distance at Turffontein. The son of What A Winter always gives of his best and merits healthy respect.

HEATH HOUSE was outrun when third in the Non-Black Type 4Racing SA Sales Cup last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He drops to his favourite distance and may be hard to catch.

Race 7

SCARLET O’HARA was given a peach of a ride when winning her last start over 1800m on the Classic course. The daughter of Red Ray received a three-pound penalty for that victory. She takes a rise in class, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

WILLY MEET AGAIN is better than her recent form. She has won once and finished third once from three starts on this course. If putting her best foot forward, she may pose a threat.

DIMAKO’S JET is a winner of her last two starts. She returns from a well-deserved 19-week break which may have done her the world of good. If not in need of the run, she can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 8

KORTVANDRAAD has produced two good runs since winning her maiden over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. She challenged strongly over 1800m on the Classic course last time, but found one too good in the form of Scarlet O’hara. She would have come on from the outing and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, she can go close.

GLAMOROUS LADY ran on when second over 1400m at Turffontein last time. She returns from a 15-week break which may have been what she needed. If not in need of the run, she should be competitive.

SURPRISE PARTY finished 2.65 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. She is carded to race on 11 June 2026 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.

Race 9

POMPEII SHIELD followed up his maiden victory with an encouraging fourth-place finish over 1800m on the Classic course. He received a bump leaving the start and stayed on at the finish. The son of William Longsword gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming Apprentice Blaine Marx-Jacobson which will assist his cause.

ITSNOWORNEVER finished 1.1 lengths behind CIRCLE OF GRACE last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.

CIRCLE OF GRACE was touched off in his last start over 1800m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack. If all went well with his travels back to the Highveld, he should be hard to peg back
