Weather Forecast - Edinburgh

Edinburgh:

Edinburgh’s opening match of the URC season came away to Ulster last week. They were given around 12.5 points start on the bookmakers main handicap line and they didn’t need any of it as they came away with a 34-29 win. Edinburgh scored 4 tries through Douglas, Satala, Patterson and O'Conor all converted by Grayson who also landed 2 penalties. However they were 34-5 up after around 55 minutes and had to survive a fierce Ulster fight back for the remainder of the game and they ended the opening round as 1 of 5 sides to pick up a bonus point win.

After this Edinburgh visit Zebre and then host the Lions in Round 4. We won’t see them in SA until Rounds 13 and 14 in March for dates with the Sharks and the Bulls. In the outright betting to win the URC title Hollywoodbets have Edinburgh priced up as 100/1 shots.

Stormers:

The Stormers are another of the teams who picked up 5 log points in the opening round. They took on Connacht in Galway last Friday night and started as underdogs at around +4.5 points. The Stormers were 12-10 down at half time but turned things around to win 22-15 with Gelant, Sandi, Paulo and Ngobeni the try scorers.

The Stormers have won 3 and lost 1 of the last 4 URC meetings with Edinburgh. Last season the Stormers won 33-14 in Cape Town but on their only visit to Edinburgh which came in October 2024 they crashed to 38-7 defeat.

After this the Stormers will return home for a Round 3 derby against the Sharks in Cape Town. In the outright betting to win the URC title Hollywoodbets have the Stormers priced up at 33/10 third favourites behind Leinster (16/10) and the Bulls (3/1).
