Round 7 of the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season is complete and in this blog we list the results and look at how they have impacted the standings before turning our attention to a reduced Round 8 from a betting angle.
Round 8 Handicap Projections
Posted 29 March 17h34
Here are my handicap projections which will be compared to the bookies tomorrow
Crusaders -27.5 v Fijian Drua
Chiefs -15.5 v Waratahs
Reds -8.5 v Western Force
ROUND 7 RESULTS
Posted 29 March 11h00
Moana Pasifika 19–39 Highlanders – Pasifika started +15.5 and no points in the last 20 minutes meant my Pasifika overs play at 23.5 lost
Brumbies 28–30 Waratahs – Brumbies were -12.5 so this was an upset. I was on under 58.5 and lost with under 2 minutes to play
Hurricanes 52–14 Reds – Hurricanes started -12.5 and beat the cap comfortably. I never got involved.
Blues 40–15 Fijian Drua – the Blues started -21.5 and I took them to win by 21-30 at 57/20 with the minus and the bet landing on the hooter
Western Force 14–24 Chiefs – I was on under 58.5 and it arrived easily as the Force beat the +12.5 handicap
LEAGUE TABLE UPDATE
After seven rounds the Hurricanes remain top of the Super Rugby Pacific standings with 25 points from six matches, continuing their strong run at the top.
The Blues are level on 25 points in 2nd place, having played one game more, while the ACT Brumbies sit 3rd on 20 points.
The Queensland Reds are 4th on 18 points, with the Chiefs moving into 5th on 17 points following their win over the Force.
The Crusaders occupy 6th place on 14 points, level with the NSW Waratahs in 7th, while the Highlanders are 8th also on 14 points.
Further down, the Fijian Drua sit 9th on 8 points, likely out of playoff (top 6) contention, with the Western Force and Moana Pasifika both on 4 points at the bottom end of the table.
