The PGA Tour returns for yet another signature event as the players head to Ohio for the 50th renewal of the Memorial Tournament. We look at this week’s golf and pick 4 players to take on the bookmakers
The Course
This week’s tournament will be played at Muirfield Village Golf Club, located in Dublin, Ohio. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the course is a par 72 and stretches to 7,533 yards (6,888 meters). Known for its pristine conditioning and Augusta-like presentation, Muirfield Village is a true test of all-around skill.
The greens are undulating and extremely fast, demanding precision and touch on the putting surface—putting will be a decisive factor this week. While the fairways are moderately generous, they funnel into smaller-than-average greens that place a premium on accurate approach shots. Several holes feature strategic bunkering and water hazards, requiring intelligent course management. Players who can combine distance off the tee with finesse around the greens will have the best chance of contending.

Selections:
Scottie Scheffler at 3.80
Scheffler is coming into this week with unbelievable form. In his last five events he has won twice, finished fourth twice and his worst finish has been eighth. His two wins came at the PGA Championship and the CJ Cup the week before where he shot -31 to win by eight shots. At last week’s Charles Schwab Challenge, he shot -8 to finish in fourth place. He is also the defending Champion. Scheffler will be the man to beat yet again this weekend and I am going with a win only strike.
Suggested bet: Win only at 3.80
Tommy Fleetwood at 29.00
Fleetwood has been putting together some impressive performances over the past few weeks. He finished fourth at last week’s Charles Schwab, only four shots off the lead. Two weeks before that he also finished fourth at the Truist Championship. In his last five starts he has two top fives, a top ten and a top twenty-five. If he can get off to a good start this week he stands a good chance over the weekend.
Suggested bet: Each way at 29.00
Si Woo Kim at 46.00
Kim has a pretty impressive record at the Memorial, in his last five starts at the tournament he has finished 18th or better on every occasion. Three of the finishes have been in the top 15 while his best finish came in 2023 where he finished 4th. Kim has also been on a solid run of form recording an 8th, 17th and 15th all in his last four starts on tour. If he can continue this momentum, I can see him putting his name high up on the leaderboard this weekend.
Suggested bet: Each way at 46.00 and a bigger stake on a Top 10 finish at 4.33
Our 4th and final selection will be around the 100/1 mark and will be added to the preview by Thursday morning.
Max Homa at 81.00
Ok we never quite came in at 100/1 but this is only a 72 man field.
Homa has been battling with his game for some time but there are signs he is coming to hand again.
His last 3 showings have not been great but he is making cuts and 4 starts back he finished T12 in the Masters.
He has some very good course form with a 6th and a 5th in 2021 and 2022 and after missing 2023 he was 22nd last year in a season where top 25’s were rare.
I really enjoy Homa and hope he is on the way back and will throw some coin at him this weekend.
Suggested Bet: Homa each way at 81.00
