MotoGP returns this weekend after a short break as we head to Silverstone for the annual United Kingdom GP. We look at this week’s race from a betting angle as we look to beat the bookies.
PREVIOUS RACE – Grand Prix of France
The French GP saw an outside winner for the first time this season. As the drivers battled the wet conditions, Johann Zarco came out on top to win the race by 19.9 seconds. Marc Marquez finished in second place while Fermin Aldeguer finished in third. Zarco as a matter of interest is 29.00 top double up this week.
CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE
Marc Marquez jumps back to the top of the championship standings and is currently sitting at 171 points. The bookies have him at 1.06 to win the World Championship this year. Francesco Bagnaia, who is trading at 12.00, sits on 120 points while Alex Marquez, who is also trading at 12.00, sits on 149 points.

British Grand Prix 2024
Last year’s race saw Enea Bastianini have a brilliant ride to finish in first place only 1.9 seconds ahead of Jorge Martin. Bagnaia finished in third place while Marc Marquez finished in fourth.

VERDICT
Alex Marquez didn’t finish last week’s race after just completing nine laps in the wet conditions. This came after winning the Spanish GP the race before and I think we can draw a line through it. He finished seventh in last years race and will be looking to bounce back to catch up on Marc in the Driver’s Championship. Marc is too short for my pocket this week and while a worthy favourite if anyone an challenge him it should be Alex.
