Friday 17th April Gujarat Titans v Kolkata Knight Riders
Venue: Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad
Match Result Betting: Titans 6/10 Knight Riders 14/10
The Titans have played 4 matches, winning 2 and losing 2. They lost their first 2 matches narrowly, away to Punjab and at home to Rajasthan Royals before they put themselves on the board when they held on to defend 210/4 for a 1 run victory over the Capitals in Delhi. The Titans took on LSG in Lucknow last time out and half century’s for Buttler and Gill saw them chase down 165 for victory for a 7 wicket win.
Meanwhile KKR’s wait for their first win goes on and they can be found at the foot of the standings. Their only log point came from a “no result” at home to Punjab Kings in their third outing. KKR started with a 6 wicket defeat in Mumbai and 65 run loss at home to the Sunrisers. They went down by 3 wickets at home to LSG and last time out they were beaten by 32 runs away to CSK.
The only game at Ahmedabad so far saw the Royals defend 210, but only just and the titans were without Gill that day. I think there is some milage in backing the titans to hit the most sixes.
Bets: Titans to hit the most sixes, even money at 21/20 with Sportingbet
Saturday 18th April Royal Challengers Bengaluru v Delhi Capitals
Venue: M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru
Match Result Betting: RCB 0.62/1 Delhi 14/10
RCB hosted Lucknow Super Giants last time out and they chased down a target of 147 for a 5 wicket win which at the time sent them top of the standings. Slam Dar took 4 wickets, Kumar 3 and Hazlewood’s figures of 1/20 also stood out and Kohli’s 49 was the top score in a chase completed in 15.1 overs. Earlier results delivered home wins for RCB against the Sunrisers and CSK and also away to Mumbai but they did lose away to Rajasthan Royals.
The Capitals have 2 wins and 2 defeats against their name. They started with a pair of 6 wicket wins, away to LSG and at home to Mumbai Indians. Since then their progress stalled, edged out by the Titans by 1 run in a home fixture and last time out they lost to the Super Kings by 23 runs in Chennai.
Hazlewood is back in the fold and bowled well for RCB last time out but I still think there is mileage in
Bets: Top RCB wicket taker Bhuvenshwar Kumar at 17/5 with Sportingbet
Saturday 18th April Sunrisers Hyderabad v Chennai Super Kings
Venue: Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad
Match Result Betting: Sunrisers 7/10 CSK 23/20
The Sunrisers have 2 wins and 3 defeats against their name. By far their best performance came at this venue in their most recent outing which saw them end Rajasthan Royals 100% record with a 57 run win. Ishan Kishan hit 91 in their total of 216/6 and Hinge and Hussain both took 4 Royals wickets. Their only other victory came in their second outing when they put KKR away by 65 runs at Eden Gardens. Either side of that Sunrisers went down by 6 wickets away to RCB and lost their first home game of the season to LSG by 5 wickets
After losing their first 3 matches by wide margins CSK put themselves on the board with a 23 run home victory over Delhi Capitals (Sanju Samson cracked 115 not out) and they followed up with another home win, seeing off KKR by 32 runs with Noor Ahmed returning figures of 3/21 to help CSK defend 192/5.
Ending the Royals winning streak at this venue last time out was impressive by the Sunrisers but CSK are also gaining momentum. I’m looking to the Player Performance market and Nithish Reddy’s capacity for contributing with bat and ball for the home side erns my vote for him to beat his quote.
Bets: Player Performance Nithish Reddy over 31.5 at 17/20 with Lucky Fish
