Friday 10th April Rajasthan Royals v Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Venue: Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati

The Royals have started in fine form, winning each of their first 3 matches. They took on Mumbai Indians at this venue last time out and after rain reduced the contest to 11 overs a side the Royals 150/3 (Jaiswal 77 not out) trumped Mumbai’s reply of 123/9 for a 27 run victory. Earlier the Royals bowled CSK out for just 127 in an 8 wicket win at this venue and they also won away to he Titans b 6 runs.

RCB have played just the 2 matches so far, both home games, and they won both by comfortable margins. Last time out they smashed 250/3 (Tim David 70 not out) and there were 3 wickets for Kumar as RCB came out on top by 43 runs. In their opening match RCB chased down the Sunrisers 201/9 for a 6 wicket victory.

Match Result Betting: RR evens RCB 8/10

Two unbeaten sides and a tough game to call. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has taken 4 wickets in the 2 RCB home games on a higher scoring ground than this which for me makes him a runner in the top RCB wicket taker market.

Bets: Top RCB Bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar at 3.65/1 with WSB

Saturday 11th April Punjab Kings v Sunrisers Hyderabad

Venue: Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, New Chandigarh

The Kings had KKR on 25/2 at Eden Gardens in their latest outing when the heavens opened and no further play was possible. They began their tournament with a home fixture against Gujarat Titans and they came out on top by 3 wickets, restricting the Titans to 162/6 and getting up in 19.1 overs. Punjab then followed up with a 5 wicket win over the Super Kings in Chennai, chasing down 210 for victory and the chase was concluded with 8 balls to spare.

The Sunrisers have 1 win and 2 defeats against their name. Their only victory came in their second outing when they put KKR away by 65 runs at Eden Gardens having posted 226/8. Either side of that Sunrisers went down by 6 wickets away to RCB and most recently they lost their first home game of the season to LSG by 5 wickets, posting 159/6 which was overhauled with just 1 ball to spare (Harsh Dubey 2/18).

Match Result Betting: Punjab 8/11 Sunrisers 23/20

Travis Head has played just the one innings of substance so far, 41 in the win at KKR but I’m taking him to fire here and top score for SH.

Bets: Top Sunrisers Run Scorer Travis Head at 3.25/1 with WSB

Saturday 11th April Chennai Super Kings v Delhi Capitals

Venue: MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai

CSK’s nightmare start continues and after going down to RCB by 43 runs last time out it’s now 3 defeats from 3. Earlier the Super Kings had started with a 8 wicket defeat away to the Royals and in their only home game so far they lost to Punjab by 5 wickets, posting 209/5 (Mhatre 73) which was chased down in 18.4 overs.

The Capitals most recent outing came at home to the Titans and they lost a thrilling contest by 1 run, their first defeat of the tournament. The Titans posted 210/4 batting first (Ngidi 1/24) and DC looked to be in control of the chase with KL Rahul (92) and Nissanka (41) putting on 76 for the first stick. Thereafter only David Miller (with a quickfire 41 not out) could get to grips with the bowling but he was facing when DC needed 2 off 2 balls and they didn’t get home. Earlier Delhi won their first 2 matches by 6 wickets margins, away to LSG and at home to Mumbai.

Match Result Betting: CSK 23/20 DC 8/11

The only game so far at this venue saw both sides score 200+ and a total of 16 maximums. I think we can better that by at least 1 on Saturday.

Bets: Total match sixes over 16.5 at 9/10 with Sportingbet

Sunday 12th April Lucknow Super Giants v Gujarat Titans

Venue: Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow

LSG took on the Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on Thursday they got up to win a thriller by 3 wickets. KKR posted 181/4 in their 20 overs and the Super Giants were reliant on Badoni (54) and especially Choudhary who smashed 54 off 27 balls including 7 maximums, 2 of which came in the last over, to get his side home. LSG now have 2 wins and 1 defeat against their name. . They went down to Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets at this venue in their first outing before they put themselves on the bord with a 5 wicket win over the Sunrisers ins Hyderabad.

All 3 of the Titans matches have gone right down to the wire on it proved to be third time lucky when they held on to defend 210/4 for a 1 run victory over the Capitals in Delhi last time out. Shubman Gill (700 and 50’s for Buttler and Sundar were the top scores in their bat first total and Rashid Khan’s figures of 3/17 helped hold Delhi off and earned home the Player of the Match award. In earlier games the titans were on the wrong end of tight finishes, losing away to Punjab by 43 wickets and at home to the Royals by 6 runs.

Match Result Betting: LSG 21/20 GT 8/10

This could be tight in terms of the match result but for a bet I'm with the Titans to hit the most sixes after key men Gill and Buttler starred in their first win last time out.

Bets: Most sixes Titans at 5/4 with Sportingbet

Sunday 12th April Mumbai Indians v Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Pre tournament favourites Mumbai started with a 6 wicket win over KKR at this venue, chasing down 221 for victory but things haven’t gone to plan since then. In their second match MI went down to the Capitals by 6 wickets in Delhi and most recently they lost a rain shortened 11 overs a side contest away to Rajasthan Royals by 27 runs.

RCB visited in form Rajasthan Royals on Friday and we will update this preview when the outcome of that match is known. In their first 2 matches, both home games, RCB won by comfortable margins. RCB smashed 250/3 (Tim David 70 not out) and there were 3 wickets for Kumar as they beat CSK by 43 runs and in their opening match RCB chased down the Sunrisers 201/9 for a 6 wicket victory.
