Monday 27th April Delhi Capitals v Royal Challengers
Venue: Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi
Match Result Betting: Delhi 23/20 RCB 15/20
The Capitals have won 3 and lost 4 of their 7 matches and right now thy are seventh on the log. They started with a win at Lucknow and at followed up at home to Mumbai before back to back defeats at home to the Titans and in Chennai. Delhi beat RCB by 6 wickets in Bangalore but then went down to the Sunrisers. At the weekend they posted a whopping 264/2 at this venue against Punjab. Nitish Rana hit 91 and KL Rahul cracked an unbeaten 152 off just 67 balls but Punjab chased it down in 18.5 overs for a 6 wicket win.
RCB have won 5 and lost 2 of their matches so far and they are second on the log, 3 points behind Punjab Kings. They came up against Delhi on 17th April and they posted 165/8 but in a thrilling finish Delhi chased it down with a ball to spare. Since then RCB bounced back with aa 5 wicket home win over the Titans with 81 from Kohli helping them chase down 206 for a 5 wicket victory. Earlier results delivered comfortable home wins for RCB against LSG, the Sunrisers and CSK and also away to Mumbai but they did lose away to Rajasthan Royals.
This ground saw a deluge of runs at the weekend, it could be a similar story but I believe RCB have the stronger unit with ball in hand and will boast the top bowler in the match.
Bets: Team with top bowler RCB at 0.77/1 with WSB
Tuesday 28th April Punjab Kings v Rajasthan Royals
Venue: Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, New Chandigarh
Match Result Betting: Punjab Kings 7/10 Royals 12/10
Punjab Kings have 6 wins and 1 no result against their name, they are the only unbeaten side in the tournament and they top the log. They pulled off a huge run chase in Delhi last time out with Arya (43) and Singh (76) putting on 126 for the first stick and Shreyas Iyer was unbeaten on 71 when they overhauled DC’s bat first total of 264/2 with 7 balls to spare. Aside from the abandoned game away to KKR the Kings have been foot perfect.
After starting with 4 straight wins the Royals lost momentum and after 8 matches they have a record of 5 wins and 3 defeats. They pulled off a 40 run win at Lucknow last week but couldn’t follow up against the Sunrisers in Jaipur last time out where their bat first total of 228/6 (Sooryavanshi 103) was overhauled with 9 balls remaining.
The Kings bandwagon rolls on and I’m not going to oppose them here but settle on a nibble at Arshdeep Singh to be the top bowler in the match.
Bets: Match top wicket taker Arshdeep Singh at 6.2/1 with WSB
Wednesday 29th April Mumbai Indians v Sunrisers Hyderabad
Venue: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
Match Result Betting: Mumbai 9/10 Sunrisers 19/20
Mumbai have won 2 and lost 5 of their 7 matches so far. Their most recent outing came at this venue on Thursday last week when they hosted CSK, they found themselves chasing 210 for victory and the chase never materialized as they were bowled out for just 104. Since beating KKR here in their opening match MI’s only other win came in their penultimate outing away to the Titans.
The Sunrisers have played 8 matches and have 5 wins and 3 defeats against their name. After losing 3 of their first 4 matches they reeled off 3 impressive home wins with some huge scores and last time out they chased down the Royals bat first total of 228/6 with Hishan (74) and Abhishek Sharma (57) the top scorers.
A cracking contest awaits and I see the top individual score being 79 runs or more.
Bets: Top Runscorer total runs over 78.5 at 0.87/1 with WSB
