Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals contest the IPL eliminator at Mullanpur on Wednesday and we take a look at how both sides have been getting on before nailing up a couple of bets
Betting Update
The winner of this game will take on the loser of Tuesday’s qualifier between RCB and Gujarat titans at this venue on Friday for a place in Sunday’s final.
The Sunrisers have been trading at around 11/2 in the outright betting market to win the tournament and the Royals can be backed at around 6/1.
To win this match the Sunrisers are 15/20 favourites and the Royals are 21/20
Sunrisers Hyderabad
The regular season saw the Sunrisers finish on 18 points with a record of 9 wins and 5 defeats, the same as RCB and Gujarat Titans but the Sunrisers had an inferior net run rate to those two sides and hence they contest this eliminator, the long way round to the final.
SRH lost 3 of their first 4 matches before they reeled off 5 wins in a row and they held things together at the business end. In their final match of the regular season they beat RCB by 55 runs, posting 255/4 with Ishan Kishan top scoring with 79.
The Sunrisers hosted Rajasthan Royals in Match 21. Kishan again made 91 in their bat first total of 216/6 and Praful Hinge (4/34) and Sakib Hussein (4/24) helped bowl the Royals out for 159 (Donovan Ferreira 69).
The return in Jaipur in Match 36 also saw the Sunrisers come out on top, this time by 5 wickets. The Royals posted 228/6 (Sooryavanshi 103) which was chased down with 9 balls to spare (Kishan (74)
The Sunrisers run scoring charts for this tournament are topped by Heinrich Klaaasen (606 runs), Ishan Kishan (569) and Abishek Sharma (563). With the ball Eshan Malinga is their leading wicket taker with 19.
Rajasthan Royals
The Royals finished fourth in the regular season with a record of 8 wins and 6 defeats. They won their first 4 matches of the tournament to set the early pace but then became hard to catch right before they finished with back to back wins at home to the Super Giants and away to Mumbai Indians.
Sooryavanshi is the Royals leading run scorer with 583 from 14 innings, Jurel is next best with 458 and Jaiswal has made 397. Jofra Archer has taken 21 wickets, that’s 8 more than any other Royals bowler.
The Verdict
The Sunrisers lost their match against Punjab Kings at this venue whilst the Royals on their game against the same opponent and both those matches saw both teams score 200+. With that in mind the batsman milestones are worth a second look in my opinion with 3 or more looking pretty good. I’m also with the Sunrisers to score the most sixes.
Bets: Total Batsman Milestones (50's/100's) 3 or more at 21/20 with Lucky Fish
Most Sixes Sunrisers Hyderabad at 8/10 with Lucky Fish
