A betting preview and tips for the 2026 T20 World Cup matches taking place on Saturday 14th February including Ireland v Oman, England v Scotland and New Zealand v South Africa

FINDING YOUR LOVE LANGUAGE

Personally I don’t need words of affection or acts of service – just hand me the remote when there’s some live sport on and you have my heart. All those people out there who have been well trained in this concept of love languages, and now have a busy schedule planned for international romance day, I hope you booked the table with a view of the telly at least!

IRELAND v OMAN, Colombo (SSC)

This is a basement battle in Colombo. There’s no expensive champagne and fancy dinners here – it will be an ugly scrap for a first World Cup win.

With only Australia left on the dance card this really is the last chance for Oman, whilst Ireland will feel disappointed with their efforts thus far.

Total Sixes – Under 9.5 @ 1.91 with Pokerbet

Neither team has the confidence at present and I don’t see them teeing off with confidence.

ENGLAND v SCOTLAND, Eden Gardens

These two meet in the Gardens but it will be anything but a romantic picnic between the two British neighbours. I certainly didn’t anticipate England finding themselves in the position that they simply can’t afford to slip up against the Scots or its homeward bound for the English hotshots.

Scotland have had two previous rendezvous at this venue, on the most recent of those two outings they posted 207/4 versus the Italians. The countrymen of William Wallace will have plenty of confidence swinging their willow around in the Garden(s), but will the Poms be able to measure up?

England Total Sixes – Over 9.5 @ 1.84 with Pokerbet

When the Poms are under fire they look to spice things up even further in true Bazzball fashion.

Top Batter – HC Brook @ 9.00 with Pokerbet

Time for the skipper to step up and deliver.

NEW ZEALAND v SOUTH AFRICA, Ahmedabad

This could have been a duel for survival but after the Proteas were able to just about sneak a win (after seemingly trying their best to lose it at times) there is some wiggle room for the unlucky loser in this one.

South Africa return to now familiar terrain but will want to get some proper winning momentum going, rather than merely sneaking results. Thus far it has been more adrenalin filled dates like shark cage diving for the Saffas and less romantic strolls on the beach.

Their opponents, the Kiwis are riding a wave of confidence and will fancy their chances of securing their spot in the Group of 8 in style.

New Zealand total sixes – Over 8.5 @ 2.08 with Pokerbet

Allen, Seifert and Mitchell are solid hitters and there are a few others very capable of pitching in. The SA attack has leaked plenty thus far.

New Zealand Top Batter – DJ Mitchell @ 9.50 with Pokerbet

The top order is in flying form, but Mitchell is the type of fighter who comes to the party when the going gets tough.

Player of the Match – MJ Santner @ 17.00 with Pokerbet

Should be one of the best bowlers and often adds a good blow or two with the bat. To be honest I also think the Black Caps have a decent shot at winning the game. I’m backing Mitch to show us some affection to close out Valentine’s Day.
