Newcastle vs Bournemouth
Newcastle have taken 4 points from 2 matches. It could have been 6 had Liverpool not forced a 2-2 draw with a 99th minute equalizer in their only home game so far whilst last week they were full value for a 2-0 win at Spurs.
Bournemouth threatened a surprise away to Man City on the opening weekend but two late goals for City saw them go down 2-1. Last week they played out a 1-1 draw at home to Everton, a game they led from just before half time until the 91st minute.
Verdict
Newcastle have started well whilst Bournemouth are unlucky to only have earned a single point so far. Bournemouth’s Alex Scott is heading right to the top and is my pick to score anytime.

Brentford vs Sunderland
Brentford were impressive in putting Spurs away 3-0 in their first home game and last week they dominated the first half of their trip to Leeds but the hosts fought back and it ended 1-1.
Sunderland were way short of their best in losing 2-1 at Ipswich first time out but last week they improved as the game with Fulham went on and came out on top 1-0.
Verdict
Enzo Le Fee missed a penalty for Sunderland here last season and will be super keen to make up for it so he provides the anytime interest.

Brighton vs Leeds
Brighton dished out a 4-0 hiding to Villa in an opening weekend home fixture but they eventually went down 4-3 away to Chelsea last weekend having trailed 3-0 just after the half hour mark.
Leeds began with a 1-0 win away to Forest thanks to a late goal from Stach and they followed up with a 1-1 at home to Brentford with Calvin-Lewin finding their equalizer.
Verdict
Brighton’s matches have been full of goals but that hasn’t been the case with Leeds. We should see a 2 or 3 though and I’ll side with former Leeds man Rutter to pop up anytime for Brighton.

Fulham vs Crystal Palace
Fulham are still looking for their first point of the new EPL season after a 3-2 home defeat to Chelsea was followed by a 1-0 loss at Sunderland and new coach Alvaro Arbeloa was very critical of his sides display at the Stadium of Light.
Palace are also looking to open their account. They created and missed chances in a 2-0 defeat away to Everton first up but last time out they were beaten 4-1 by Man City in their first home fixture.
Verdict
Hard to know which of these sides is best placed to kick start their season and the draw is the percentage call here.

Man City vs Coventry
After two rounds of matches City have the maximum 6 points and their 4-1 win at Palace on Monday (Haaland 2, Cherki 2) puts them on top on goal scored. On the opening weekend City needed two late goals to come from behind to beat Bournemouth 2-1 in a home fixture.
Coventry found it tough going on the opening weekend when they went down 3-0 at Arsenal. That was always going to be a huge task but last week’s 1-0 home defeat to Hull, who had finished way behind them in the Championship last season, might well have their fans worried even at this early stage.
Verdict
I fear for Coventry here and will go with City to score 4 or more

Notts Forest vs Spurs
Forest led twice (Ndoye, Gibbs-White) away to Liverpool last week but had to settle for a 2-2 draw. It was a much improved display from the 1-1 draw at home to Leeds on the opening weekend.
Spurs are one of five clubs who have lost both of their opening matches. They were never at the races in a 3-0 defeat at Brentford first up and last week they seemed to lose their way as the game wore on in a 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle.
Verdict
Spurs have it all to prove after spending heavily and losing their first two games. I’m really not sure about this one and will take just a small interest in 1-1.

Hull City vs Aston Villa
Hull were written off as relegation fodder by pretty much all the pundits prior to the start of the season but the Championship play off winners have maximum points after a 2-0 win at home to Man United was followed by last week’s 1-0 victory away to Coventry.
Villa started last season poorly before shooting up the table and their much changed squad have lost their first 2 matches of the new campaign without scoring. A 4-0 defeat at Brighton, with all the goal coming in the first half, was a really poor start but they were much more competitive at home to Arsenal on Monday night despite the 1-0 defeat.
Verdict
Early days but still worth complimenting Hull although I’m thinking Nicolas Jackson will find a way through their defence on Saturday
