West Ham v Newcastle and Man City v Bournemouth are the two matches on Sunday’s English Premier League coupon and we have a play for both games

Prices quoted are correct at the time of publication but subject to change.

Note, picks will be added when we have some team news to work with on Thursday and Friday

West Ham v Newcastle

West Ham finished the previous round second from bottom with just the 4 points. In 4 league games under Nuno’s management they have drawn 1-1 at Everton and lost at Arsenal (2-0) and Leeds (2-1) either side of a 2-0 home defeat to Brentford. Their only win came at Forest on Matchday 3 and they have yet to earn a point at home, scoring just twice and conceding 12.

Newcastle made more progress in their defence of the EFL Cup in midweek with a 2-0 home win over Spurs. A 2-1 home win over Fulham last weekend moved them up to 12 points and they are in mid table in the standings. Struggles away from home in the EPL have been holding them back. They scored their first away goal in a 2-1 defeat at Brighton in their most recent road trip which was preceded by 0-0 draws at Villa, Leeds and Bournemouth.

West Ham fans are growing impatient with the clubs owners and they haven’t beaten Newcastle in the last 5 EPL head to heads in London (3 defeats, 2 draws). Still, the one West Ham player that can be relied upon to put in a shift is Jarrod Bowen which makes his price boost to pop up with a goal my play for this one.

Bet: Anytime Goalscorer Jarrod Bowen boosted to 32/10 with Sportingbet

Man City v Bournemouth

City were 3-1 winners away to Swansea of the Championship in midweek and now bid to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat away to Villa last weekend. That loss saw them slip down to fifth in the standings and ended a 5 match unbeaten run in the EPL which delivered 4 wins and a 1-1 draw at Arsenal.

Bournemouth saw off Forest 2-0 in a home fixture last weekend and finished the round in second spot, 2 points better off than City and 4 behind league leaders Arsenal. Since losing 4-2 at Liverpool on the opening weekend they have won 5 and draw 3. They won 1-0 at Spurs early in the campaign and subsequent road trips delivered plenty of late drama in a 2-2 draw at Leeds and 3-3 draw at Palace.

City have an excellent record at home to Bournemouth but that could be tested on Sunday with Bournemouth looking even better than they were last season. Still Bournemouth have conceded 5 in their last 2 road trips and 4 at Anfield so there should be chances for City and Josko Gvardiol is a speculative play to score any time.

Bet: Anytime Goalscorer Josko Gvardiol at 9.5/1 with Sportingbet
