one for me today - in the last GIVE IT LALDY @ 15/2 ew, Lerena had been booked for ride, Wright now up. Horse has been gelded and did have a bit of a high reputation in racing circles so hoping he’s fit for today.

race 1 turffontein sunday - 3 HORSE FIELD!! i have been punting south african racing for 35 years and i have never in my life seen this. the field sizes in general of late do make for a worrying trend, lots of small fields, which i really struggle with.

but yes, check it out, a 1/10 2 time winner running against a maiden and debutant. i'm lost for words...

Thats a shocker South, I read something a while ago about reducing stakes rather than cancelling races when its less than 4 (i think) runners but a 3 horse race of that nature no fun whatsoever for punters. Think bigger problems with field sizes are Gauteng, no stats to back it up but coastal venues seem to be well populated

Greyville R5, Huge fan of Questioning but maybe Jerusalema Rain (7/1) can give him a race here, improved with each of 3 runs since a long break, Tarry raiding, useful 1.5kg claimer and well drawn 

R6 Looks a nightmare to sort these babies out, probably go with Secretary Bird for Tarry at around 8/1

R7 Malmesbury Missile, each way at 10/1, 2nd run after gelding, comeback after being cut was decent, Muzi up, draw could have been kinder in a really tough race

R8 Town Crier excuses last time, Murray booking interesting, 10/1 each way

g9 - sign of fate 12/ ew, good draw and mr has creeped down to a more competitive level with 4kg off back as well.
