Got the third monument of the season on Sunday over the cobbles. I expect it to be contested by the same two riders as yesterday.
Itzulia Basque Country
Six day stage race. Starts with a climby 14km ITT and then mostly mountain stages. Previous winners Almeida, Ayuso, Vingegaard etc. Nothing on the outrights. Looking forward to seeing the next generational talent - Seixas. Such a pity he is also going to that graveyard for young talent UAE next season.
Stage 1
E/W 1-3
Del Toro @ 11/1

Itzulia Basque Country Stage 5
Queen stage today and Seixas looks like a lock but 17/20 just not cycling odds. Taking a little dig at the other two podium spots
1-3
Uijtdebroeks @ 10/1

Pogcar for the win, the wife must be happy Vann!
I won't argue and hard to look beyond the top 2 here but I like Van Aert to be in the mix today
Thought he looked strong at Flanders suffering mainly on the steepest climbs and I think he will be better suited to Roubaix
WVA Top 3 at 7/4
The strong riderswill come the the fore as they did last week because this will be hard ridden but luck in running (or avoiding bad luck) is more critical here than anywhere

Missus delighted.
Took some Pithie top 10 @ 7/2 purely because a few punters on X mentioned him. Not particularly fond of the odds so did not consider it worth posting here.

Nice Brent. Good weekend all round and still two top newsletter picks running in the Masters tonight. Hope you had a beer on the Wout win too.

Cheers Vann,
What a race hey that was unbelievable
I was going to have a nibble on Wout but the market was taken down when I looked and so it was just the top 3
So happy for Wout and at the same time gutted for Pogacar and MVDP - 3 great champions nd as annoying as I find Hannah in commentary I agree when she says if this race never existed and someone proposed it npw they would never succeed in getting it approved.
