All Racing Tips w/c 19th October

This weeks local racing schedule is as follows.

Durbanville Wednesday, nice midweek card, playing around these.


Race 4 Virginia Bluebell at 3/1. Most of the fancied runners have drawn wide including the selection who’s close 3rd at this track over a bit shrter last time out suggests she can go one better today.
Race 5 Witch Hazel at 2/1. Lightly raced gelding steps up to the mile for the first time and that could be what he is looking for. Has drawn 1, down in class and Murray takes the ride for the third consecutive time.
Race 6 One Liner at 4/1. Has run to a mark of 88 on each of last 5 starts and holds a number of these on previous run. A tricky puzzle to solve but consistency could be rewarded  
Race 8 An each way chance is taken on One More Star at 16/1. Yard had success in the last race here on Saturday and this one is their only runner today. Needed latest WCP debut when not sighted, off 49 days, hopefully sharpened up as would have a shout on Highveld form.

Plays for Turffontein on Thursday


Race 2 Uncle Bob at 9/2. Emptied out last time back in trip today, previous 2 were solid enough runs. Has the favourite to beat but is much better drawn than market leader
Race 5 Radio Star at 5/2. Note the jockey change with 4kg claimer taking over. 3rd run after a break, backed when 2nd in a slightly stronger race last time
Race 7 Command Pilot each way at 25/1. Bounceback needed from last 2. Goes well this trip, down in class and MR easing.
Race 8 Kovil at 5/2. Good third a Class B last time, calmer waters here.

Viriginia Bluebell drfited but came home at a nice price on Wednesday but couldn't find anything to go with it. Fairview poly on Friday, like these.


Race 2 Pointer at 15/10. Finished well in similar company on ECP debut over c&d, mark unchanged, Zackey up
Race 4 Rhythm at 7/2. Consistently earning at and around this level, tricky race but another chance for Zackey
Race 6 Policy Of Truth at 5/1. Followed up an easy win over 2000m with a cracking effort over a mile last time out, back up in trip, drawn 1 and bang in form since move to ECP
Race 7 Fiery Countess at 5/1. Slowly away last time but finished well over 1400. Up to a mile today which should suit, drawn OK at 5 and she can be involved under Zackey if jumping terms.
Race 8 Endeared each way at 16/1. Giving weight but has drawn 1 and comes into the equationbased on most recent win 3 runs back over c&d

and the picks for the Greyville (poly) night meeting on Friday


Race 4 Queraristinyferari at 4/1. Promise early in career before losing way. 2nd run after a break for her new yard and hinted at a return to form last time, taking on the biys but well drawn and speedy
Race 5 Tote Exacta 1 and 5. There is little between Chara Sands and Mojo Man on 24th Sept c&d form and they can fight this out.
Race 6 Twocantango at 5/2. Often runs on well, now upped to 2000m which could do the trick in a race with not a lot of depth
Race 8 Commanding each way at 10/1. First go on the poly, needed latest, mark has been easing and could be worth a small nibble

A couple of winners at Turffontein turned a profit on Thursday, back there on Saturday but this time Standside track which will be in top shape with Charity Mile to come next week. Tough card to get a feel for especially in the early races but settled on these.


Race 4 Alpine Jet at 5/4. One of a few runners returning from a lay off, yard’s comments are bullish and she is a c&d winner
Race 6 Lost For Words at 28/10. Lightly raced mare who could still be ahead of current mark, 2 from 3 over c&d, decent comeback run latest, fitter today and Muzi Yeni retains the ride.
Race 8 Minerva Fae at 5/2. Returning from a break and may concede fitness to market rival Staggerwing but the pair are closely matched on past form and the selection arguably has the most scope for improvement after just 2 runs. Yard’s only runner on the day
Race 9 Major Arcana at 4/1. Good 2nd off a break last time out when slowly away in a slightly stronger race. Lightly raced 5yo, big player if jumping on terms. Jocky only has this ride on the card.

Friday at Fairview couldn't have ended better with 16/1 shot Endeared arriving, Greyville at night managed to get Twocantango in but nothing to go with it.

Last up for the week a competitive turf card at Greyville on Sunday, will take my chances with these.


Race 3 Claw at 7/1. Good run off a break from a wide gate latest, Has won twice this trip, drawn 1 with a 4kg claimer on top
Race 4 Salani Kahle at 10/1. Something not right when backed latest, lightly raced c&d winner who we may not have seen the best of yet. Many rivals are Summer Cup entries who could be prepping, Player if last run can be forgiven.
Race 5 Master Bomber at 6/1. Has been running well from wide gates at and just above this level, drawn 4 today, many with chances but given a shout on consistency
Race 6 My Boy Lollipop each way at 16/1. Hasn’t threatened for some time and often slow away but mark has eased sharply and also down in class. Bounceback needed but Craig Zackey on board and connections had a winner here on Friday
Race 7 Volegov at 7/1. Down in class, probably needed latest, well drawn at 3
Race 8 Rushing Chimes at 5/2. Highly tried as a 2yo, st run off a break this season was aa cracker, mark unchanged, drawn 1 and Fourie up

Minimal interest today.

Turffontein
Race 2 - Lanteri (11/1 E/W) - Received betting support in both local runs over 2000m. Tends to over race. Ignore last run, think inside track did not suit. Apprentice riding well, only carries 52.5kgs with allowance. 

Race 6 - Ocean Mistress (7/2) drifting in betting. Top juvenile form, takes on older opposition for the first time. Drop in trip should assist. A horse to follow this season. 

Race 7 - Love Not War (4/1) - Good 4th behind Playing Trix last time. Finished her race 0.5 seconds faster than Matinee did earlier that day. Stables only runner for the day. 

Race 9 - With Chris, Major Arcana (4/1) form line of most recent run, when narrowly beaten, looks strong with Little Boy Blue (twice) and Lonely As A Cloud coming out to win their next starts.  

just one for me - 

T5 Itsnowornever @ 16/1 ew. Muzi has won on him before, wasn't disgraced behind some decent younger sorts last time out when caught wide for most race, think muzi can drop him in from a poor draw over this trip and give him a chance off the pace.

 

Turffontein went well with 3 from 4, some good each way shouts as well South and JT.

Sunday my fancy Salani Kahle scratched in Race 4 at Greyville, was looking for a big run there as the Summer Cup entries will probably be in prep mode. No back up in that race so will leave it alone
