I have taken a long term play

Ben O'Conner podium at 6/1

I get the feeling he is getting stronger and could see the likes of Gall having a bad day

also taking 28/1 Vingegaard-O Conner straight forecast

Should be a great stage today but hard to look past Vingeaard who is 5/10

I am hoping for a good ride from O'Conner and will back him to beat Storer

Stage 14: O Conner/Storer at 21/20

I had a very poor Saturday of punting but nothing hurt as badly as that O Conner performance

Must agree Brent. O"Connor has been a disappointment. My plan yesterday was to pick someone from the break but they were never given enough time.

Stage 17
Hard to see past Narvaez today but I'm pretty sure the 3/1 will still be around if he makes the break.  Visma have said that Piganzoli will be allowed freedom to chase white and a stage. I think Wout has looked frisky recently

I've been keeping a fairly low profile in the Giro, but today's Stage 19 is the queen stage and should be well worth a watch.

With Vingegaard well in control of the race for the pink jersey, he is certainly under no pressure to chase the stage win, but it should nonetheless make for great viewing. I may look for an outsider or two in the stage betting itself, but it is the King of the Mountains market that has really caught my eye.

You can currently get around 17/20 about Vingegaard to win the KOM jersey, and as I write this he leads the standings by 81 points. Ciccone is the rider the bookmakers clearly expect to challenge, and he is trading around 12/10, or even money in places. From my calculations, there are 166 KOM points available on today's stage alone, but I think it is a massive ask for Ciccone to crest virtually every summit first and still go on to win the stage itself.

Should Vingegaard win today's stage, he is just over even money to do so then I think he would virtually have the KOM jersey wrapped up even if Ciccone wins the other climbs. There are also a couple of Category 1 climbs on tomorrow's Stage 20, one of them right at the finish, which would again make Vingegaard favourite for the stage.Ciccone is obviously a quality climber, but there is just so much that can go wrong in these mountain stages, and it is not as though the rest of the peloton are simply going to sit back and allow him to ride over every summit uncontested.

I think Vingegaard at 17/20 for the King of the Mountains jersey is outstanding value and it will be my make or break Giro bet and may even make it into the newsletter.

Just don't see the break staying away today and the Jonas odds not worth it. Would normally take a match bet double or treble but my books won't allow it so taking a stab at an odds against top 10

Top 10

Some days this sport can kill you

Brilliant ride by Ciccone which I can live with but Kuss was one of my outsiders but I got distracted and missed the start - Vann break my heart further - what price was he?

Your heart is OK. Saw him at 25/1 before the start so nothing huge

Not a great Giro for me. Found the week I missed with the power outage got me out of the rythm and let a few stages slip by where there were opportunities to collect on shorter odds. Looks like the INEOS and white jersey outrights will land so not all bad. Jonas looks good so hopefully we get a TdF where both Pogs and him are injury free.

Giro Stage 21

Win  Groenewegen  @  4/1

Top 3  Have to invest a few beers for the last time   Zambanini  @  25/1
