Zim v Aus 1st ODI @ Harare Sports Club

Sadly no TV coverage in SA it seems. We are pulling the shortest end with this now being the 4th series in 2 weeks not shown live on television. (Nam Triangular T20s, Nam ODIs and Afg v Ind the others).

Below full-strength Aussies were beaten by Pakistan and Bangladesh away from home recently, with Zimbabwe beating Bangladesh 2-1 at home about 2 months ago. Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh and Josh Hazlewood returns for Australia with Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc rested and Steve Smith not available for this series.

Small interest in the man top bowler market. Harare generally favors pace bowling with low scores often being the case. 2022 was the last time a test playing nation scored over 300 here. Blessing Muzarabani spearheads the attack and troubled the Aussies in the T20 WC earlier this year, taking 4/17. He also took 3/21 in a T20 here back in 2018 against the Aussies.

Match Top Wicket Taker: Blessing Muzarabani 8/1 @ WSB
Man of the Match: Blessing Muzarabani 39/1 @ BetXchange

If any of the expert punters on the forum and perhaps Oracle, who has been in the bookmaking game, can help me with this please:

Best price for a Zimbabwe win is 31/4 with BetXchange currently. Aussies 1/25 basically everywhere. I feel this is wrong given Australias struggles in white ball cricket of late, playing away against Zimbabwe who has had quite some match time under the belt recently albeit mostly T20s (Nam, SA, Ind & Ban). Not saying that Zim is a good thing at all but definitely worth a punt at these odds.

Does one wait for a better Australia price in-running or split stake in half pre-match eg take 2 x half unit punts on Zimbabwe and should they start well and perform better than their odds, wait for their price to decrease, cash in one of the half units staked as soon as it returns a full unit or what one feels comfortable with at the time (full stake recovered from the 1st half unit staked) and let the other half unit play out irregardless of the outcome? Lets say Aussies bat first and get rolled for 200-220, a Zim win certainly won't be priced at 31/4.

Many thanks.

Like that bet @Quill.

From Cricinfo: "Ed Rainsford is giving the pitch/conditions report. He highlights "huge" square boundaries and a significant breeze. "Never seen a pitch like this in my life," he says. Plenty of grass coverage and firm. He adds he would have bowled first."

Australia First Innings Total Under 306.5
87/100 @ WSB

Update:

Australia 83/3 after 13 overs. Inglis just dismissed. Was offered just below 199% of my stake back and took it on one of the half units wagered. Basically got a bet running on Zim winning the game at odds just shy of 360/1

Yep. Rather poor coverage of cricket in our part of the world recently. Suppose it has to do with the French from C+ knowing buggerall about the sport.

England  v  Sri Lanka  1st T20

Most wickets
England  Rashid  @  11/4

Most runs
England  Banton  @  15/2  Unlikely to get much crease time but I like the odds

England v Sri Lanka, 2nd T20 Cardiff, Thursday preview here

Weather forecast looks a bit unsettled, thinking Sri Lanka top bat and ball markets are nowhere near as competitive as England's so trying one fav and one more speculative play

Top Sri Lanka run scorer Dasun Shanaka at 15/2 with Sportingbet
Top Sri Lanka bowler Wanindu Hasaranga at 27/10 with Sportingbet
