I was in some trouble heading into last week’s final match, Scotland against Argentina. England’s brilliant win over the All Blacks had been my only highlight and I needed 50 points or more at Murrayfield to claw some ground back. Things didn’t look good for the newsletter bet at the break with only 14 points on the board, but an Argentine comeback for the ages saw us home with a bit of room to spare in the end.

I was joined by The Mossman and The Oracle last night. There was plenty of action in the live chat and the panelists agreed strongly on some games and differed just as strongly on others. We were also surprised to find out from The Oracle that Chile had played in the last RWC 😂

The game of the week is without doubt Ireland against the Boks. The Irish are a team that has troubled the Boks over the last decade or so and they played well last week against Australia. The Boks come into this fresh, having played almost an entirely different team last week and while it won’t be easy I am expecting them to slowly strangle the Irish and to pull clear in the 2nd half.
