Winning Form selections for racing from the Vaal on Thursday 5th February where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
Race 1
ANNEWITHAN E stayed on when third over 2000m on this course last time. She is having her peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Apprentice Jacey Botes takes the 2.5kgs off her back from pole position, and she can notch up her fourth-career victory.
PEACE TREATY finished 1.3 lengths behind CREPUSCOLO last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around.
CREPUSCOLO‘S last three starts have been good. He carries a light mass thanks to the services of Apprentice Dezahn Louw. He is carded to race on 01 February 2026 and his progress in that race will need to be followed.
Race 2
UTSAAH ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the daughter of Capetown Noir. She meets the right field and if jumping on terms, she can go one better.
MADE TO MEASURE ran a fair race over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The daughter of Fire Away is a progressive type and can improve to complete the exacta spot.
GREENSIDE GIRL finished 6.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result. She is a filly with scope and can improve to finish in the placings.
Race 3
This is a weak Maiden Plate and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is SMUGGLER from the Sean Tarry stable. He lost a length leaving the start over this C&D last time and stayed on to finish fifth. It must be noted that Agoge has come out and won again since. The son of Futura is a progressive type and can improve to win a race of this nature.
INDIAN SPICE‘S last two starts with the blinkers fitted have been fair. He jumps from a good draw of three and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
TERRENCE was disappointing in his last start over 1160m at Turffontein. He ran a fair race on debut and the manner in which he finished off his race that day suggests that he will enjoy the rise to 1600m. He is a horse with scope and can show good improvement.
Race 4
DIMAKO‘S JET won a good race over this distance at Turffontein last time. She has won twice, finished second three times and third twice from ten starts over this distance. She is in a good space and can follow up with another victory.
FUTURE DATE won a good race over 2000m on this course last time. She finished 0.8 lengths behind the top choice in her penultimate outing. She is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
ART NOUVEAU finished 1 length behind the second selection last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today which is enough to turn the form around. However, FUTURE DATE won easier than the official margin suggests and may still have the upper hand.
Race 5
This is a competitive Merit Rated 79 Handicap and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is SURPRISE PARTY from the Paul Matchett stable. She won a good race over this distance at Turffontein last time. The blinkers did the trick on the daughter of Gimmethegreenlight. If jumping on terms, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
ARTIC SILVER has fair recent form lines to her name. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last start has come out and won since. She takes a drop in class and with luck from the widest draw, she should pose a threat.
MERRYWEATHER got up where it matters most to win his last start over 1600m at Turffontein. She should have no issues with the rise to 1800m. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight has ability and merits obvious consideration.
Race 6
MONEY HEIST is the top bet on the programme. He moved up well over 1450m on this course last time, tried hard but was touched off by Tin Pan Alley. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming Apprentice Sifisokuhle Bungane which will assist his cause. He is the class horse in the race and can go one better.
MAX THE MAGICIAN has good recent form lines to his credit. He was outrun late over 1200m on this course last time. Two of his five career victories have come over this distance. He may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
WAYNE is better than his last start in the Grade 3 Betway Got The Greenlight Stakes. He gets the tongue-tie fitted which may assist. The son of Vercingetorix has scope and with just 52kgs on his back, he should have a say.
Race 7
NEVER NEVER LAND won a good race over 1200m on this course last time. He showed a good turn of foot and won going away. The son of Ideal World has ability and with luck from his awkward draw of eight, he can follow up with another victory.
PEREGRINE FALCON has good consistent form lines to his credit. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
LONGSWORD stayed on when fourth over 1400m at Turffontein last time. He takes a slight drop in class and from his good draw of two, he should earn another cheque for his patrons.
Race 8
LONELY AS A CLOUD stayed on when fifth over this distance at Turffontein last time. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming Apprentice Bavish Soodoo which will assist his cause. On best form shown, he can notch up his third-career victory.
BLINDFIRE showed speed over this C&D last time before getting outrun late by Jet Cat. She has won once, finished second twice and third once from five starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
PRECOCIOUS was an easy winner when shedding her maiden tag in her stable debut over this distance at Turffontein. The daughter of Ideal World takes on stronger, but she has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand
