RACE 1
Five of the six runners in this contest are unraced and the betting market will be the best guide. CASPERITA is a daughter of Fire Away from the powerful Alan Greeff stable and Richard Fourie is booked to ride. If not in need of the outing, she should start her career on a positive note.
ROCK ME MAMA is a daughter of Rafeef and she is a stable companion of the top choice. She is related to three-time winner Homely Girl. Andrew Fortune does duty and if not too green in running, she should give a good account of herself.
ETERNAL SPIRIT hails from the Dean Smith yard and she is a daughter of Master Of My Fate. Craig Zackey will be in the saddle and if not too green in running, she should produce a positive showing.
RACE 2
HERE COMES JOHNNY showed good improvement in his local debut over 1200m on this course. He showed pace that day and stayed on to finish third. It must be noted that the horse that finished second has come out and won since. The son of What A Winter should have no issues with the drop to 1000m and he may have more to come.
WINTERONTHEGREEN returns from a 12-week break and is having her first run for Kelly Mitchley. It must be noted that Palace Gift has come out and won again since. The daughter of What A Winter has been taking on winners in recent outings. She carries a handy galloping mass of 53kgs and if settled into her new surroundings, she should be competitive.
TITTLEMOUSE is an unraced daughter of Fire Away from the Alan Greeff stable with Richard Fourie aboard. If not in need of the outing, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
RACE 3
ATLANTIC PEARL showed signs of needing her last start over 1200m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. If finding the form of her penultimate outing, she should go close.
TIMELINE is still a maiden after 23 starts, but has some decent recent form lines to her name. The booking of Craig Zackey is a big plus. She is carded to race on 03 February 2026 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
ENDIZAYO finished 2.35 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
RACE 4
LANA VIEW has consistent form lines to her credit. She rallied late when second over 1400m on this course last time. She has finished second twice and third twice from six starts over this distance. In this field, she can shed her maiden tag.
XTINES PRINCESS is having her first run for the Dean Smith stable. The daughter of Kingman steps up to the mile and Craig Zackey will need to switch her off early. She has scope and with luck from the widest draw, it would be no surprise to see her in the winner’s enclosure.
LEBOMBO GOLD hails from the visiting Justin Snaith stable. She is a filly with scope and if all went well with her travels, she should improve to contest the finish.
RACE 5
ALESIA‘S LOVE was slow into stride over 1000m last time, but ran on strongly to finish third. She has won twice, finished second twice and third four times from 11 starts over this distance. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D, behind Direct Hit. Kendall Minnie knows her well and if jumping on terms, she can notch up her fourth-career victory.
GALILEO STAR showed speed when winning his last start over 1000m on the polytrack. He has won on this course previously. The son of The United States looks to have ability and should the top choice fluff her lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
TINTAMARRE stayed on when sixth over this distance on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He drops back in class and cannot be discounted.
Race 6
FAIRY KNIGHT is the top bet on the programme. He was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 1200m on the polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. The son of Global View is a class above the rest of this field and can notch up the hat-trick.
GUY GIBSON has good recent form lines to his name. He ran on well when third in the Non-Black Type Founders Trophy last time. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this distance. The son of Lancaster Bomber is a solid back-up for the Alan Greeff stable.
USA‘S HOPE finished 2.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
RACE 7
GUARDING THE WALL ran a good race when third over this distance on the polytrack last time. He has won once and finished second once from four starts over this C&D. The son of Querari takes a drop in class and from his handy draw of five, he should be hard to peg back.
PEDRO finished 1.6 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
VOLARE E MAMBO stayed on when third over this distance on the polytrack last time. She gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming Apprentice Jacey Botes which will assist her cause. The daughter of Mambo In Seattle will be mowing down the frontrunners.
RACE 8
SHORI KAI tried hard when third in the Breeders Guineas Plate over this distance on the polytrack last time. She set the pace that day before getting caught late. The daughter of Global View has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this C&D. Chad Little is likely to use her early gate speed to overcome the wide draw and she may be hard to peg back.
CHRONICLESOFNANIA ran a creditable race when fifth over 1600m on this course last time. She raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. The 6yo mare drops back in class and should be involved at the finish.
POMODORO MAGIC finished 0.05 lengths behind IZANAMI last time. She is 3kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is drawn in pole position which is a big plus
