SENORITA LOLITA produced an encouraging debut effort over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She showed speed but found one too good in the form of Dream Trip. The daughter of Act Of War would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should pose a threat.
MARY CASSATT finished 0.75 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
Race 2
WINTERWORLDOFLOVE produced a promising debut effort over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. She was slow into stride, understandably raced green but stayed on at the finish. The daughter of What A Winter would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1250m. Callan Murray rides and with the natural improvement that is expected, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
PEACH COBBLER has shown good improvement in each of her outings to date. She raced from a prominent position over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time, but found one too good in the form of Supreme World. The daughter of Buffalo Bill Cody is a progressive type and with luck from the widest draw, she should pose a threat.
SPURIOUS should have finished closer to the winner last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. If keeping on a straight line, she should go close.
Race 3
READY FOR THE ROAD raced from a handy position on the Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Winter course last time before getting outrun late by Master Coiner. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. Tristan Godden is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
MASTERONTHEMOON finished 0.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
BIG DEAL was running on when fourth over 1400m last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. He does have an awkward draw to overcome, but gets the services of Andrew Fortune who will give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
Race 4
WEHAVEASITUATION has shown signs of needing her last two starts after returning from a 15-week break. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. Jockey Mickaelle Michel takes the 1.5kgs off her back from pole position. She will be at peak fitness and may be the one to cause the surprise.
EISTEDDFOD challenged strongly over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth last time, but found one too good in the form of Beneath The Clouds. Apprentice Dezahn Louw takes the 2.5kgs off her back which will assist her cause.
MIGHTY MARY was unlucky not to have won her last start over this distance. She returns from a 13-week break which may have done her the world of good. If not in need of the run, she should fight out the finish.
Race 5
MON PAPILLON was running on when second over 1600m on this course last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the daughter of Master Of My Fate. It is encouraging that Richard Fourie retains the ride and the combination can go one better.
GIVEN TO FLY finished 0.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should pose a threat.
MEG’S LEGACY stayed on when fifth over 1250m on this course last time. She drops back in class and gets the services of Craig Zackey. If not too far out of her ground turning for home, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 6
LYRICAL GANGSTER raced from just off the pace over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Witch Hazel. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of seven, he can notch up his second- career victory.
CORK BAY finished 0.05 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
SOOTY finished 3.25 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. The 11-week break may have done him the world of good and if fit, he can finish in the placings.
Race 7
GALACTUS should have finished much closer to the winner over this C&D last time as he had no luck in running. He jumps from a good draw of three and if all goes according to plan, he can return to winning ways.
HIAWATHA GOLDBERG finished 0.3 lengths behind HERITAGE RIDGE last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough to turn the form around. This is his peak run and with luck from the widest draw, he should be competitive.
GRAVITY finished 1.05 lengths behind HERITAGE RIDGE last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
Race 8
FLYING FINLEY ran on powerfully when winning his last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He received a five-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Oratorio is in a good space and with luck from the wide draw, he can follow up.
UN BEL DI won a good race in the Non-Black Type Winter Sprint last time. He finished 3 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate effort. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
