Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday 19th July where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
DANCING PARTY was unlucky last time as she had to be steadied at the 700m mark and 400m mark, due to a loose horse. She finished third over 1200m on the polytrack in her penultimate outing. The daughter of Chimichuri Run is a progressive type and with luck in running, she can shed her maiden tag.
IBHOLA LOMLILO is an unraced daughter of Vercingetorix from the Mike and Mathew de Kock stable with Gavin Lerena in the saddle. She is related to four-time winner You Win Again. If not in need of the run, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
PACIFIC MOOD was a tad disappointing in her last start over 1400m. Her penultimate run when third over 1200m catches the eye. The daughter of Malmoos has scope and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 2
STEAMY WINDOWS was not disgraced when 3.05 lengths behind Vibe Check in the Grade 2 Omoda Golden Horseshoe last time. He should have finished closer that day as he hung inwards in the final 350m. The son of Master Of My Fate won over 1200m on this course, three runs ago. He is a horse with ability and should be competitive.
THYME TO TALK was touched off in the Non-Black Type KZN Breeders Juvenile Plate last time. The daughter of Chimichuri Run should be ideally suited to this distance. Should the top choice fluff his lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
KID FROM THE SOUTH made the natural improvement when victorious over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. The son of Real Gone Kid is a progressive type and merits healthy respect.
Race 3
INDIGNATION has shown good improvement in her last two starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. She stayed on to finish third last time. Apprentice Divesh Ramkhalawon takes the 4kgs off her back which will assist her cause. She is likely to race on the pace and may be hard to peg back.
THELEIA has good form to her credit. She returns from a 14-week break and makes her way to KwaZulu-Natal. With a bit of luck in running, she should be competitive.
GIMME THE POWER was a beaten odds-on favourite over 1600m on the polytrack last time. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. Keagan de Melo does duty and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
Race 4
OLD HARRY ROCKS is the top bet on the programme. The son of Malmoos caught the eye when fifth on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. He would have gained from the experience and should love the rise to 1400m. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.
SKIPPER ZIP showed good improvement when fourth over 1200m on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He is having his peak run and may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
BAI YULU ran a good race when second over this C&D last time. The blinkers may have had the desired effect. Marco van Rensburg retains the ride, and she should give the males a run for their money.
Race 5
TULIP FIELDS has good recent form to her credit. She drifted in the betting market when third over 1200m last time. Her victory over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville three runs ago, catches the eye. She is drawn awkwardly in Barrier Eight, but Craig Zackey knows her well and should give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
LADYOFDISTINCTION stayed on when fifth over 1600m on this course last time. She has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this distance. On best form shown, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
DE VLUGGE is a winner of her last four starts on the polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in her last outing has come out and won since. She has won once and finished third once from as many starts on this course. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
Race 6
HOP HOP SPINNEKOP followed up her maiden victory with a good third-place finish over this C&D. The manner in which she finished off her race that day was encouraging. The daughter of Flower Alley has plenty of scope and from her good draw of two, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
TAYLOR’S VERSION took on stronger in her last start over 1600m on this course. She was victorious in her previous two outings. From pole position, she should fight out the finish.
LILAC IN WINTER is the stable companion of the second choice. It must be noted that Innerbloom has come out and won again since. She will strip much fitter and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 7
BUDDY BOY stayed on at the finish when third in the Non-Black Type KZN Breeders 1200 last time. He won his only attempt over this C&D. The blinkers remain fitted as he steps up in distance. The son of What A Winter should get a good run in transit from Barrier Two and can notch up his second-career victory.
I AM INVICTUS set the pace over this C&D last time, fought hard but found one too good in the form of Magma Magic. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He is likely to race on the pace and may be hard to peg back.
WICCAN WARRIOR showed good signs of a form return when second over this distance at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. He is having his peak run today and will be cherry-ripe. The 6yo gelding is a solid back-up for the Gareth van Zyl stable.
Race 8
LUNCH MONEY has good recent form to his credit. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth in his last outing has come out and won since. The 6yo gelding is having his first run for the Frikkie Greyling stable. If getting away on terms, he may be the one to beat.
FLAMETHROWER ran a fair race in the Grade 3 Tote Godolphin Barb Stakes last time. He returns from a 12-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. Apprentice Damyan Pillay takes the 2.5kgs off his back and he should give his older rivals a run for their money.
INDECENT PROPOSAL was running on when fifth over this distance on the polytrack last time. He has won once, finished second once and third once from five starts over this C&D. The son of New Predator should produce another honest performance.
Race 9
VISION TO ACHIEVE took on male company in her last start over 1100m on this course. She has won four times, finished second three times and third once from 11 starts over this C&D. She is back against her own sex. Chad Little steps into the saddle and he may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most.
ARVERNI PRINCESS won a good race over this C&D last time. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. If keeping on a straight line, she may be hard to peg back.
FLEUR DE LING finished 1.05 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 1kg worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result
