Race 1
FERRARI FLAIR is the top bet on the programme. She was far from disgraced when fifth in the Grade 2 World Pool With Race Coast Debutante. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish was encouraging. The daughter of Vercingetorix has raced in features in her last five starts and is back in maiden company. Serino Moodley knows her well and she should take a power of beating.
WILLOW VALLI found one too good in the form of Lady Nancy last time. She has finished second over this C&D previously. With luck in running, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
CHIHIRO stayed on after a slow start over this C&D last time. She would have come on from the run and will strip much fitter. Mickaelle Michel takes the 1.5kgs off her back and she should be competitive.
Race 2
MY CHINA caught the eye when fifth on debut over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He took time to find his feet, but the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. The son of Horizon would have come on from the outing and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
ARKADIN has consistent form to his credit. He set the pace over 1400m on this course last time, but did not go on with the effort. Keagan de Melo takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
BLUE ROCK PARADISE was in need of his debut effort over this C&D. It must be noted that Major League has come out and won again since. The son of Heavenly Blue would have come on from the outing and should make the natural improvement.
Race 3
ROXBURY PARK was a beaten odds-on favourite over 1400m on the polytrack last time. He finished second in his previous two efforts over this distance. If getting away on terms, he can make amends.
ROCCO‘S PEACE raced from a handy position over this distance on the polytrack last time and stayed on to finish second. The son of Declarationofpeace will strip much fitter and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
HELLO HANDSOME is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming Apprentice Shalton Sesingi and on the form of his debut run, he can show.
Race 4
DIAVAL is better than his last start suggests. His debut effort when fourth over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville was encouraging. The son of Master Of My Fate returns from a 10-week break and would have strengthened up during his time off the track. He will love the rise to 1600m and from his good draw of two, he should be competitive.
BRIGHT BLUE was running on when second over 1200m on this course last time. The son of Heavenly Blue steps up to the mile and with luck in running, he should pose a threat.
JUDICIARY finished third over 2000m on the polytrack last time. He drops back to the mile and if confirming his recent improvement, he can finish in the placings.
Race 5
GLADATORIAN was given a peach of a ride when winning the Grade 2 Betway Joburg Spring Challenge last time. Five of his twelve career victories have come on this course. This outing will bring him on nicely for the Grade 1 Betway Summer Cup. He is the class horse and should take a power of beating in this line-up.
KING PELLES produced an encouraging seasonal debut over 1400m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. This outing will bring him on nicely for the Grade 1 Betway Summer Cup, but he has the class to be competitive.
IMILENZEYOKUDUDUMA is better than his last start. He returns from an 18-week break which would have done him the world of good. The booking of Keagan de Melo is a big plus and he can finish in the placings on his return.
Race 6
MAJOR LEAGUE followed up his maiden win with an equally impressive victory over 1200m on this course. He lost a length at the start, but showed a good turn of foot and ran on powerfully. The son of Erik The Red should be ideally suited to this distance and can notch up the hat-trick.
RISING EAGLE finished 0.2 lengths behind SPIRIT OF GABZ last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights tonight and that should be enough to turn the form around.
SPIRIT OF GABZ is better than his last start in the Grade 3 TAB Graham Beck Stakes. His form prior to that outing was consistent. If this run has not come too soon, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 7
HIERARCHY won her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville easier than the official margin suggests. She finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. She is the class horse and despite her big mass, she can follow up.
SWEET GREEN finished 2.8 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights tonight and should finish closer as a result.
CHARGE IT should have finished closer in her last run over 1400m on this course. She would have come on from the outing and will strip a much fitter horse. The 1200m may be on the sharp side, but she has class about her and cannot be discounted.
Race 8
BISON WARRIOR finished 1.85 lengths behind MOJO MAN last time. He is 4.5kgs better off at the weights tonight and that should be enough to turn the form around. He finished second in his only attempt over this C&D. The son of The United States is having his peak run and with Mickaelle Michel taking the 1.5kgs off his back, he can return to winning ways.
MOJO MAN has finished second in his last three starts. Keagan de Melo is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
STREET OUTLAW stayed on when fourth over this distance on the polytrack last time. The son of Master Of My Fate takes a drop in class and with luck in running, he should have a say
