Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday 30th May where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
BRIGITTE ANNE hails from the visiting Johan Janse van Vuuren stable. She raced from a handy position over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time before getting outrun late. The daughter of Querari tries the polytrack and if taking to the surface, she can shed her maiden tag.
TWO TIGERS showed massive improvement when second over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The son of Flower Alley is a progressive type and if confirming that effort, he should pose a threat.
FREE ROAMING ran a fair race over 1200m on the turf last time. The son of Querari has plenty of scope and can show improvement on the polytrack.
Race 2
QUANDURA showed good improvement when second over 1800m on this course last time. She raced from a handy position, but found one too good in the form of Spanish Feud. The daughter of Querari carries a light mass of 50kgs. She has scope and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
BRIGHTSUNNYDAY ran a creditable race when fourth over this distance on the turf last time. She lost a length leaving the start and stayed on at the finish. Richard Fourie keeps faith in the ride which is encouraging.
CAPTAIN T ran a good race when second over 1000m on this course last time. He tries the mile for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can finish in the money.
Race 3
This is a competitive Class 3 contest for the girls and caution is advised. PERILLA is in good form heading into this contest. She raced from a handy position over this C&D last time and rallied late to finish second. The booking of Gavin Lerena is a big plus and the combination merit healthy respect.
SOVEREIGN GRANT finished 0.05 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
DE VLUGGE is a winner of her last three starts, the latest of which was over 1200m on this course. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. Keagan de Melo steps back into the saddle and the pair merit healthy respect.
Race 4
COAST OF THE SUN caught the eye when third on debut over 1200m on this course. He raced wide around the turn, but finished off his race strongly. The son of Hawwaam would have gained from the experience. With the natural improvement that is expected and with luck in running, he should be the one to beat.
BENNY AND PAUL ran a good race on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth. He returns from a 14-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. If not in need of the run, he should pose a threat.
IMPRESSIVE’S last three starts have been good. She raced from a prominent position over 1160m at Turffontein last time and stayed on to finish third. She has scope and should give the males a run for their money.
Race 5
CURIOUS GIRL is a winner of her last four starts, the latest of which was in the Grade 2 TAB SA Derby. The daughter of Futura won her maiden on this course. She takes on male company again but carries a handy galloping mass of 53.5kgs. She has no stamina issues and from her good draw of two, she can win again.
AHEAD OF THE FACTS did not settle in the early stages of the Grade 3 WSB 1900 last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He will love the rise to 2400m and with luck in running, he should be the first male past the post.
ROYAL INVITATION’S last start in the Listed TAB Gold Bowl is best ignored as she was reported to be not striding out. Three of her five career victories have come over this distance. The booking of Andrew Fortune is a big plus, and she merits healthy respect.
Race 6
WISH LIST was given a peach of a ride when winning the Grade 2 WSB Fillies Guineas last time. The daughter of Legislate won a good race in the Grade 1 Lucky Fish Cape Derby over this distance in her penultimate run. She is loaded with class and should take a power of beating.
KEUKENHOF finished 0.55 lengths behind the top selection last time. She raced from a handy position, tried hard before getting outrun late. The daughter of The United States tries the 2000m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
RAINBOW LORIKEET is much better than her last start in the Grade 1 TAB Empress Club Stakes. Her penultimate run when second behind Double Grand Slam in the Grade 1 Maine Chance Farms Majorca Stakes catches the eye. Her last victory came over this C&D and she merits obvious consideration.
Race 7
NOTE TO SELF produced a good comeback run over 1600m on this course last time. The manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. The son of Futura would have come on from the outing and will love the rise to 2000m. He will be finishing strongly and may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
STAR MAJOR was an impressive winner in the Grade 2 WSB Guineas last time. He was settled at the rear of the field and ran on powerfully. He finished 2.45 lengths behind the top choice in the Grade 1 Lucky Fish Cape Derby. Mickaelle Michel retains the ride and the combination merit healthy respect.
JAN VAN GOYEN produced a good first run as a gelding over 1800m at Turffontein. The son of Master Of My Fate would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. If seeing out the 2000m, he should be involved at the finish.
Race 8
CAPTAIN’S PRIDE was unlucky not to have won her last start over 1400m on the turf. She finished second in her penultimate outing over 1400m on this course. The daughter of Captain Of All is in a good space and with luck in running, she can notch up her third-career victory.
SIGN OF FATE finished 1.7 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 3.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.
MYSTIC DANCER stayed on when fifth over 1100m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It must be noted that Victory In Orleans has come out and won again since. Rachel Venniker takes the 1.5kgs off her back which will assist her cause.
Race 9
WINTER IN LONDON was doing his best work at the finish over this C&D last time. He had to overcome the widest draw that day. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. The son of What A Winter takes a drop in the ratings and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he may be the one to beat.
GRAND APPEAL was touched off in his last start over 1400m on this course. He moved up well that day before getting pipped by Dubai Dude. The drop to 1200m should not pose a concern and he is one of the leading contenders.
AZZURRI is better than his last start as he was reported to be not striding out. He returns from a 14-week break and is having his first run on the polytrack. If taking to the surface, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest
