Race 1

STORM CYCLONE showed good improvement when third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. The son of Pathfork is back on the Highveld and is a progressive individual. He meets the right field and with Craig Zackey in the saddle, he should take a power of beating.

STORMACT‘S last two starts have been fair. The son of Declarationofpeace will love the rise to 1600m. He is having his peak run and may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

CAPABILITY BROWN was in need of his debut effort over 1200m at TAB Vaal. The son of Flower Alley would have gained from the experience and should enjoy the rise to 1600m. With the natural improvement that is expected, he can finish in the first three.

Race 2

WHATWILLBEWILLBE stayed on when third over 1600m on the Inside course last time. That was his first outing for the Weichong Marwing stable. The son of Master Of My Fate should have no issues with the rise to 2000m. From his good draw of two, he can shed his maiden tag.

CLAIRWOOD BREEZE did not go on with the effort over this distance at TAB Vaal last time. He finished second in his two efforts prior to that outing. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

GUS ON THE BUS stayed on when third over 1800m at TAB Vaal last time. The blinkers seem to have done the trick on the son of Last Winter. Callan Murray rides and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

ALADDIN‘S LAMP was in need of his last start over 1600m on the Inside course. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D. He will strip much fitter and may be the one to spoil the Peter party.

Race 4

PERFECT SKY is better than her last start over 1200m on the Inside course as she was reported to be coughing. The daughter of Vercingetorix is unbeaten from two starts on this course. She is the best- weighted runner and should take a power of beating.

ALPINE JET returns from a 26-week break which would have done her the world of good. She is a filly with ability and on best form shown, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.

SAMUEL SHARPE finished 0.6 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish. He is drawn in pole position and must be considered.

Race 6

OCEAN MISTRESS was running on when fourth over 1200m in the Grade 2 World Pool With Race Coast Debutante. The daughter of Querari returns from a 13-week break, during which time she would have freshened up. She is a filly with class about her and if fit, she can notch up her second-career victory.

Race 7

MATINEE caught the eye when winning on debut over 1000m at TAB Vaal. The daughter of Rafeef showed a good turn of foot that day and won going away. The well-bred daughter of Rafeef takes on stronger, but she could be anything and can remain unbeaten.

PLUMBAGO PARK ran a fair race over 1000m at TAB Vaal last time. She would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. She is back against her own sex and would not be a shock winner.
