Winning Form selections for racing from the Vaal (switched from Turffontein) on Thursday 23rd April where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter @Hollywoodbets Punters Challenge
Race 1
EUPHRATES stayed on when fifth over 2400m on the Vaal Classic course last time. The son of Wings Of Desire should have no issues with the rise to 3000m. If all goes according to plan, he may be the one to beat. He is carded to race on 21 April 2026 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.
WE ARE THE LOGANS has fair recent form lines to his name. The son of Flying The Flag drops in class and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he should pose a threat.
CHABAL is better than his last two starts. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. His last two victories have come under Serino Moodley. On best form shown, he should be competitive.
Race 2
RUBY WHISPER has fair consistent form lines to her credit. Her effort when third in the Listed TAB Storm Bird Stakes over this distance, catches the eye. The daughter of Captain Of All meets the right field and she can shed her maiden tag.
LIFE’S TREASURES was in need of her debut effort against older rivals. The daughter of One World would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. With the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
IRISH WILMA found one too good in the form of Heath House last time. The daughter of William Longsword is a progressive type and can finish in the placings.
Race 3
CATFISH has good form lines to his credit, but has been costly to follow. He showed good speed over this distance on the Standside course last time before getting outrun late. It must be noted that Good Day Sunshine has come out and won again since. The gelding may have done the trick and he may be the one to beat.
LIGHTINTHEWOODS is an unraced daughter of Gimmethegreenlight from the Sean Tarry stable with Craig Zackey in the saddle. She is related to three-time winner Lighthearted. If not in need of the outing, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her and the other unraced entrants.
IMYOURHUCKLEBERRY is a son of Time Thief from the Roy Magner yard with Marco van Rensburg up. If not too green in running, he should give a good account of himself.
Race 4
THE REASON should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung inwards in the final 200m. The daughter of Skitt Skizzle should enjoy the step up to 1600m. She meets the right field and if keeping on a straight line, she can go one better.
BEAUTIFUL ONE is better than her last start as she was reported to be not striding out. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. If settled into her new surroundings, she may throw out a big challenge to the top choice.
UMAMI was her own worst enemy over 2000m last time as she over raced. She drops to the mile and can show.
Race 5
THE NAME OF DLADLA challenged strongly over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Parachute Adams. The son of Declarationofpeace is a progressive type and despite taking on older, he can go one better.
MILLENNIUM WARRIOR stayed on when second over 1400m on the Standside course last time. He has finished second once and third once from three starts over this distance. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
WINDING POWER has relocated to the Highveld. He steps up to the mile and Muzi Yeni is booked to ride. The son of Trippi is carded to race on 19 April 2026 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.
Race 6
INTO DANCING has good consistent form lines to her credit. She was not disgraced when second in the Non-Black Type Ormond Ferraris Oaks Trial last time. It must be noted that Curious Girl has come out and won a Grade 2 since. She carries a light mass and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
CEUTA was outrun late when third over 1400m on the Standside course last time. Three of her four career victories have come over this distance. She jumps from a good draw of four and merits obvious consideration.
PALACE DANCER fought hard for her last victory over 1800m on the Vaal Classic course. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. She is in a good space and can follow up with another victory.
Race 7
OPERA FAN finished 2.4 lengths behind KENSAL GREEN last time. She is 4kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is likely to race on the pace and may be hard to peg back.
KENSAL GREEN was an easy winner of her last start over 1450m on the Vaal Classic course. She received a four-pound penalty for that victory. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
FAIR PROPOSAL was reported to be not striding out in her comeback run over 1450m on this course. She would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. From pole position, she should be involved at the finish.
Race 8
ITSNOWORNEVER was an easy winner in his last start over this distance at the Vaal. He raced from a handy position, showed a good turn of foot and won with a ton in hand. The son of Global View has changed stables due to unfortunate reasons. He is in a good space and can follow up with another victory.
THAMBI finished 3.8 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
NUCLEAR FORCE showed some signs of a form return when third over 2400m on the Vaal Classic course last time. Apprentice Blaine Marx-Jacobson is likely to use her early gate speed to overcome the wide draw and she may be hard to peg back.
Race 9
PRINCESS LOLA was running on when third over 1450m on this course last time. She has finished second twice and third twice from seven starts over this C&D. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field once again and will be mowing down the frontrunners. Marco van Rensburg may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
TIME WILL TELL found one too good in the form of Romilly last time. He drops back in class and from his good draw of four, he should pose a threat.
PLUMBAGO PARK finished 0.5 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them at the finish
