MASTER’S LADY has consistent form to her name. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
PENNYS CHOICE showed improvement when third over 1160m at Turffontein last time. She is having her peak run and will be cherry-ripe. Chamu Mabaya rides and the combination merit obvious consideration.
Race 2
ASTROPHILE is the top bet on the programme. She was caught late when second on debut over this C&D. The daughter of Heavenly Blue would have gained from the experience. She carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and with the services of Phenisile Mongqawa, she should take a power of beating.
ECHOES OF WAR has fair consistent form to her name. She drops back to 1000m and if putting her best foot forward, she may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
TIME TO FIRE has moderate form to her name. She gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should sharpen her up. The daughter of Time Thief can improve to finish in the placings.
Race 3
EPIDAURUS has finished second in his last three outings. He raced from a handy position over 1800m last time, but found one too good in the form of Cover Charge. He is drawn in pole position and may be rewarded for consistency.
EVENING NEWS finished 2.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and he may have to settle for the same result.
HEROIC ACT is still a maiden after 27 starts. It must be noted that Doctor Strangelove has come out and won again since. Samuel Mosia rides and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
Race 4
LOLLY WILLOWES has consistent form to her credit. She stayed on when fourth over 1400m on this course last time. It must be noted that Anahita has come out and won again since. The daughter of Willow Magic meets the right field and she can shed her maiden tag.
LIFE AND LETTERS produced a typical second run after a rest last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. On best form shown, she should pose a threat.
BRIGHT COMET was disappointing in her last start over 1200m. Her debut effort when fourth over 1000m on the Classic course was fair. She is a filly with scope and may have good improvement to come.
Race 5
STEEL PIER has shown good improvement in his last two starts. He should have finished closer to the winner last time as he hung in the final 200m. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. If Samuel Mosia is able to keep him on a straight line, he can shed his maiden tag.
ROYALE JACKET found the 1160m on the short side last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. On best form shown, he should fight out the finish.
SILVER COMET’S last two starts have been fair. The son of Erupt has scope and can finish in the placings.

MEGHAN’S DIAMOND raced from a prominent position over 1160m at Turffontein last time, but found one too good in the form of Hoc Est Vita. The daughter of Rafeef would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. She meets the right field and can go one better.
BE ALL YOU CAN BE was reported to be fatigued in her last two efforts. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. She tries the blinkers and if finding the form of her debut run, she should feature.
WINIKA’S last two starts have been fair. She is having her peak run and should be cherry-ripe. The daughter of Willow Magic has scope and would not be a shock winner.
Race 7
GLASTONBURY FIRE clipped heels at the start on debut and never got into the race. He found outside betting support that day which suggests that he was showing some good work at home. The son of Hawwaam would have gained from the experience and will enjoy the extra distance on offer. With the natural improvement that is expected, he can feature.
A ROMAN TWIST was in need of his debut effort over 1160m at Turffontein. The son of Hawwaam would have come on from the run and should make the natural progression.
BEACH WALKER is better than his last start over 1600m on this course. He runs well for Tom Lukhele and would not be a shock winner
