Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Wednesday 22nd July where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
EGOLEE produced a promising debut effort over 1100m on this course. She raced on the pace, was understandably green in running but tried hard all the way to the line. She steps up to 1200m and gets the services of Richard Fourie. With the natural improvement that is expected, she may be the one to beat.
MULHOLLAND DRIVE hails from the visiting Paul Matchett stable. She took time to find her feet but the manner in which she finished off her race was eye-catching. She will love the rise to 1200m and is one of the leading contenders.
CELTIC MOON finished 2.05 lengths behind the top selection on debut. She would have gained from the experience and should make the natural progression.
Race 2
PREDATOR‘S CROWN was not disgraced when fourth in the Non-Black Type KZN Breeders Juvenile Plate last time. The daughter of New Predator will strip much fitter. She is back in Maiden Company and should take a power of beating.
SURREAL SONG ran a fair race over 1160m at Turffontein last time. The daughter of Vercingetorix is having her peak run and should be cherry-ripe. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
LIZ HURLEY has fair form to her name. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. She drops to 1000m and the cheekpieces are fitted. The daughter of Danon Platina would not be a shock winner.
Race 3
PRIZED POSSESSION is the top bet on the programme. He showed pace over 1200m last time, but found one too good in the form of Benny And Paul. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Vercingetorix is a progressive type and will love the rise to 1400m. Gavin Lerena rides from Barrier Two, and he should take a power of beating.
DEONARIE has produced three good efforts to date. He raced from a handy position over this C&D last time, but found one too good in the form of Charlie Bucket. He should get a good run in transit and may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
SATISFIED has been a tad disappointing in her last two starts. She steps up to 1400m and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she can finish in the placings.
Race 4
TROMBOLINES cost himself winning over this distance at Turffontein last time as he hung inwards in the closing stages. The son of Querari is having his peak run and will be cherry-ripe. From pole position, he can go one better.
EL DANTE was not beaten far over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Greyville last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He will enjoy the rise to 1400m and may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
NORDIC CHIEF stayed on when fifth over 1200m last time. He should have finished closer as he had to be steadied in the closing stages. The son of Vercingetorix will strip much fitter and cannot be discounted.
Race 5
TAKETHEGREENLIGHT found one too good in the form of Vixens War last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He meets the right field on his return and with luck in running, he may find himself in the winner’s enclosure.
CHAOS QUEEN showed good improvement when fourth over 2000m on the polytrack last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. If confirming that effort, she should give the males a run for their money.
PEACEFUL DUCHESS showed improvement in her last two starts on the polytrack. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. She has changed stables and can finish in the placings.
Race 6
XENOPHON hails from the visiting Sean Tarry stable. He stayed on when fifth over 1160m at Turffontein last time. He has won once, finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this distance. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Vercingetorix meets the right field and he has a winning chance.
SHOWGIRL is better than her last start as she was reported to be lame. She returns from a 34-week break which would have done her the world of good. Richard Fourie retains the ride and if fit, she should give the males a run for their money.
AZZURRI is better than his last start. It must be noted that Chicarito has come out and won again since. He will be at peak fitness and can improve to finish in the placings.
Race 7
ESTEEMED returns from a lengthy 69-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. His effort when second to Green Diamond in the Grade 2 TAB SA Nursery was encouraging. The son of Rafeef clearly has class about him and carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs. If not in need of the run, he should produce a promising return.
THE LAST DUKE ran a good race when fourth over 1160m at Turffontein last time. He has won twice, finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this distance. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
GOOD FOR YOU is better than his recent form. It must be noted that multiple horses from his last form line have come out and won since. He won a Grade 1 over this C&D. On best form shown, he would not be a shock winner.
Race 8
BEST OF ALL finished 1 length behind HAH LAH LAH last time. He is 7kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The son of Vercingetorix is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.
MILITARY COMMAND finished 2.4 lengths behind HAH LAH LAH last time. He is 5.5kgs better off at the weights today and should turn the form around. If getting away on terms, he should be competitive.
HAH LAH LAH won a good race over this C&D last time. He received a six-pound penalty for that victory. The son of Hawwaam has class about him and merits healthy respect.
Race 9
DE GULDEN was her own worst enemy in the Listed Amusnet Devon Air Stakes last time as she over-raced in the early stages. She ran a good race when third over this distance on the polytrack in her penultimate effort. The daughter of One World has scope and may be the one to side with.
RAGS TO RICHES made the expected natural improvement when victorious over this C&D last time. She showed good speed, found another kick and kept finding all the way to the line. The daughter of Chimichuri Run takes on stronger, but she has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
SAKURA HANAMI ran a fair race when third over 1160m at Turffontein last time. The booking of Gavin Lerena is encouraging. She is carded to race on 16 July 2026 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored
