Race 1
CORRUPT was an easy winner of his last start over 2600m on the Turffontein Inside course. He set the pace and found another kick. The son of Erupt finished third in his only attempt on this course. He should have no issues with the extra 200m on offer and can notch up the hat-trick.
GREEN MACHINE finished 3.3 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
BELLEROPHON refused to gallop in his last start at Turffontein. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from five starts on this course. If putting his mind on the task at hand, he should be competitive
Race 2
JET CAT lacked a strong finish over 1200m on this course last time. Three of his five career victories have come over this distance. He meets the right field and on best form shown, he may be the one to beat.
CALADRIUS showed speed when winning her maiden over this C&D last time. She takes on stronger, but has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.
CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS‘ last start is best ignored as she was reported to be not striding out and fatigued. She drops in class and on best form shown, she should have a say. She is carded to race on 30 July 2026 and her progress in that race will need to be monitored.
Race 3
ICONIC WINTER returns to the Highveld with good consistent form to her name. She was running on when third over 1200m at Fairview last time. The daughter of What A Winter will enjoy the drop to 1000m and if settled into her new surroundings, she can go close.
LOVE NOT WAR is better than her last start in the Non-Black Type Highveld Winter Juvenile Stakes as she was reported to be fatigued. She will be ideally suited to the drop back to 1000m. The daughter of Act Of War has scope and is one of the leading contenders.
WINGS OF KILDRA is better than her last start over 1160m at Turffontein. She has won once and finished second once from four starts over this distance. In this type of field, she can find a form return.
Race 4
TEMPRANILLO has good recent form to her credit. She stayed on when third over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The daughter of Querari is having her peak run and should be cherry-ripe. She may be the one to side with in this line-up.
SHE’S ALL MINE raced from a prominent position over 1200m last time and stayed on to finish fourth. All three of her career victories have come on this course. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
VERSACE ONTHETRACK finished 4.4 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough to turn the form around.
Race 5
COOL GAMBLER was in need of his debut effort over 1160m at Turffontein. He returns from a 22-week break, during which time he was gelded. The well-bred son of Hawwaam has plenty of scope and in this field, he should be competitive.
SMOKING GUN ran a fair race when fifth over 1160m at Turffontein last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. He is coming along the right way and can go close.
A ROMAN TWIST finished 0.2 lengths behind the second selection on debut. The son of Hawwaam would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he can finish in the placings.
Race 6
KORCULA has finished third in her last four starts, the latest of which was over 1600m at Turffontein. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will be at home over 2000m. Kyle Strydom is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
EPIDAURUS finished 1.3 lengths behind COMIC ARTIST last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
TWELFTH OF NEVER finished 2.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
Race 7
REPETITION took on stronger company in his last start over 2600m on the Turffontein Inside course. The son of Twice Over is unbeaten from two starts over this distance. He does have a wide draw to contend with, but Trent Mayhew knows him well and should give him all the necessary assistance from the saddle.
NUCLEAR FORCE won a good race over 2600m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The fitting of the blinkers did the trick. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
PARTY PUNCH finished 3.6 lengths behind the second selection last time. She is 3.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 8
ONE STATE showed good improvement when third over 1400m at Turffontein last time. He raced from a handy position and tried hard all the way to the line. The son of One World is a progressive type and if seeing out the 1700m, he can shed his maiden tag.
CAMPO FORMIO finished 0.2 lengths behind the top choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and there should not be much separating them at the finish.
WARTRAX BLAZE has fair recent form to his name. He was well-beaten into third over 1600m at Turffontein last time, behind an above-average individual. The son of Declarationofpeace has scope and would not be a shock winner
