Weather Forecast – Cape Town
Stormers:
After 15 rounds of matches for all teams the Stormers are second on the log and their record now comprises of 11 wins and 4 defeats for 51 log points. That puts them 4 points behind the leaders Glasgow Warriors and just ahead of Leinster on points difference. The Lions are 3 points further back in fourth and only 11 points cover the top 9 teams.
As it turned out the Stormers missed an opportunity to regain top position on the log when they went down to a surprise 33-24 home defeat to Connacht last week, a first home defeat to an overseas team in the URC for 2 years.
After this the Stormers finish up the regular season overseas with visits to Ulster and Cardiff.
In the outright betting to win the URC title the Stormers are now 11/2 third favourites with Hollywoodbets with Leinster topping the boards at even money.
Glasgow Warriors:
The Warriors record also reads 11 wins and 4 defeats and they are 4 points clear of their opponents here with the top half of the log becoming increasingly congested with 3 rounds of the regular season still to play.
They benched a number of regular starters for a clash with the Lions in Johannesburg last week and they came well and truly unstuck, crashing to a 54-12 defeat with the Lions scoring 8 tries. In earlier URC matches against South African sides the Warriors beat the Sharks 35-19 in Round 1 and they also beat the Bulls in Glasgow, 21-12 in Round 4.
After this the Warriors finish the regular season at home to Cardiff and finally away to Ulster.
In the outright betting to win the URC title this season Glasgow Warriors are 3/1 second favourites with Hollywoodbets.
