England host Australia at Twickenham on Sunday in the final match of Round 4 of the Nations Championship. Both teams recovered from disappointing starts to their July campaigns, and this should be an interesting contest between two sides with plenty to play for.
England have won four of their last five meetings with the Wallabies, although Australia produced a memorable upset at Twickenham in 2024.

England
England sit third in the Northern Hemisphere standings with 10 points from two wins and one defeat, two points behind leaders France.
They opened their Nations Championship campaign with a disappointing 45–21 defeat to South Africa at Ellis Park before bouncing back with a comprehensive 73–8 victory over Fiji in Liverpool. They finished the July window with a hard-fought 31–24 win over Argentina in Santiago del Estero.
England have scored 125 points and conceded 77 in their opening three matches, giving them a points difference of +48.
Steve Borthwick's side will be pleased to return to Twickenham, where they have enjoyed considerable success against Australia in recent years. They won the corresponding fixture 25–7 last November, although the Wallabies had stunned them 42–37 at the same venue a year earlier.
With Japan and New Zealand still to come, England will be targeting a strong start to their November campaign as they look to close the gap on France and Scotland in the Northern Hemisphere standings.
England are 17/2 to win the Nations Championship.

Australia
Australia sit third in the Southern Hemisphere standings with eight points from one win and two defeats, seven points behind unbeaten South Africa and New Zealand.
The Wallabies opened their Nations Championship campaign with a narrow 33–31 defeat to Ireland in Sydney before going down 42–26 to France in Brisbane. They finished the July window on a much better note, running in 57 points against Italy in Perth to secure their first victory of the competition.
Australia have scored 114 points and conceded 85 across their three matches, giving them a points difference of +29.
Since July, the Wallabies have also been involved in the Rugby Championship, including their traditional Bledisloe Cup encounters with New Zealand, so they have had plenty of competitive rugby heading into the November internationals.
Australia will take encouragement from their dramatic 42–37 victory at Twickenham in November 2024, when Max Jorgensen scored an injury-time try to snatch victory. However, England gained revenge last year with a comfortable 25–7 win.
The Wallabies face a demanding November schedule, with Scotland and Wales to follow this weekend's trip to Twickenham.
