ChelseaSunday's English Premier League coupon is headlined by Manchester City v Spurs and we also take a look at Chelsea's home game against Brighton

Chelsea 7/10 Draw 31/10 Brighton 33/10

Chelsea's last 3 matches were full of drama and goals, most recently a 4-1 defeat Newcastle, they were level at 1-1 at half time but Newcastle pulled away and Reece James was sent off. Prior to that Chelsea played out a thrilling 4-4 draw at home to Manchester City which was preceded by a 4-1 win at Spurs who had 2 men sent off and 2 key players injured.

Chelsea are mid table with 16 points from 13 matches, they have won just 1 home game in the league so far, drawing another 3 (including Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool) and Villa, Brentford and Forest all took maximum points from their visits to Stamford Bridge.

Despite having Lewis Dunk sent off Brighton came away from Forest with a 3-2 win last weekend. That snapped a run of 6 league games without a victory although 4 of those were draws and 2 defeats came at City and Villa. Brighton finished the previous round of matches in eighth spot with 22 points, 6 better off than Chelsea and 6 shy of a top 4 spot.

The Verdict

My concern with Brighton is 4 defenders are on the injury list leaving them stretched in that department and if Chelsea are on a going day they could take advantage.

I'm with Sterling to score “anytime” and also Chelsea to win with both teams finding the net

Bets: Anytime Goalscorer Raheem Sterling at 14/10 with Sportingbet

Chelsea to win and both teams to score? (yes) at 19/10 with Sportingbet

Man City 3/10 Draw 5/1 Spurs 7.75/1

City lost top spot on the log after they were pegged back late on by Liverpool in a 1-1 draw in Manchester last weekend. They are only 1 point behind new leaders Arsenal who host Wolves on Saturday whilst Liverpool and Villa are just 1 point shy of the title holders.

The draw with Liverpool ended City's 100% record in front of their own supporters this season and it was the second successive match in which they had shared the points after a 4-4 epic away to Chelsea.

Spurs come into the weekend in fifth spot and on the back of 3 successive defeats. They went down 2-1 at home to Villa last weekend and prior to that they lost 2-1 at Wolves and 4-1 at home to Chelsea. Betancur picked up an injury last week and Spurs are already without the likes of Maddison, Van de Ven and a host of others whilst Romero is serving the final match of his ban for a straight red card against Chelsea.

The Verdict

Spurs have won 3 of their last 4 league games against City but the situation with injuries has been a huge factor in their 3 recent defeats and as the match result odds suggest they look up against here.

I can see Spurs scoring but City winning the game whilst in the goalscorer markets I will go with Haaland to score more than once.

Bets: Man City to win and both teams to score? (yes) at 14/10 with Sportingbet

Haaland 2 or more goals? Yes at 26/10 with Sportingbet
