oldtraffordOur featured English Premier League match taking place on Sunday comes from Old Trafford where Manchester United host Spurs

Man United

After 20 rounds of matches United have 10 wins, 1 draw and 9 defeats against their name and they come into the weekend in eighth spot, 9 points shy of a top 4

position.

Three of their last 4 league games were road trips, a 0-0 draw at Liverpool and defeats at West Ham (2-0) and Forest (2-1). Their most recent home game delivered a come from behind 3-2 victory over Villa. United progressed in the FA Cup with a 2-0 win at Wigan earlier this week and that competition is their only chance of silverware this season.

Spurs

Despite a crippling injury list Spurs have won 4 of their last 5 league games and they are in fifth position, just 1 point behind Arsenal and Man City (City visit Newcastle on Saturday). They crashed to a 4-2 defeat at Brighton in their most recent away fixture before a 3-1 home win over Bournemouth put them back on track and last weekend they were 1-0 winners at home to Burnley in the FA Cup.

Although some players are returning or close to a return from injury Spurs have AFCON absentees to contend with and Son is also away at the Asia Cup. Timo Werner has joined on loan for the rest of the season.

Recent Head to Head

The first league meeting this season took place in London in August and Spurs ran out 2-0 winners

When the teams met in Manchester last season United won 2-0

The Betting

At the time of writing United are trading at 12/10 to win the game with the draw priced at 3/1 and Spurs can be backed at around 2/1

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 0.47/1 and it's 9/20 for both teams to score

The Verdict:

Spurs will be looking to get through the next month or so still in touch with the top 4 as when they get back to full strength they will be a big threat. This looks awkward though and even though United's form continues to frustrate their supporters I think Spurs would be happy enough with a point in the circumstances.

Looking at the stats United are hardly draw specialists but I'm with a share of spoils.
