arsenal1819The Uefa Champions League quarter finals get under way on Tuesday with two blockbuster first legs as Arsenal host Bayern Munich and Manchester City travel to taken on Real Madrid.

Arsenal 15/20 Draw 2.95/1 Bayern 33/10

Arsenal booked their quarter final spot after edging past FC Porto on spot kicks. They were beaten 1-0 in Lisbon in the first leg and Trossard's goal in the return in London squared things up before the Gunners held their nerve in the shoot out.

Arsenal were comfortable topping their group ahead of PSV with 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat, Lens were third and Sevilla a distant fourth. Home form was perfect, 3 straight wins and no goals conceded.

After a run of 10 wins and 1 draw in their last 11 league games Arsenal are back on top of the EPL standings, ahead of Liverpool on goal difference with Manchester City 1 point back in third.

Arsenal are trading at around 48/10 with BoyleSports to win the UCL this season and they are 6/10 to reach the semi finals.

Bayern overturned a 1-0 first leg deficit in their Round of 16 match up with Lazio with a 3-0 win in the second leg in Munich with Harry Kane bagging a brace.

Bayern were unbeaten in cruising through their group. They dropped points in just the 1 match, a 0-0 draw at home to runners up Copenhagen whilst Galatasaray were third and Manchester United were the big casualties in fourth.

Bayern are in second spot in the Bundesliga but after back to back league defeats they are now 16 points behind Leverkusen and it's almost certainly race over.

Bayern are trading at around 76/10 with BoyleSports to win the UCL this season and they are 12/10 to reach the semi finals.

The Verdict:

Although they found it tough going to break Porto down Arsenal have been excellent since the turn of the year and although the same cannot be said about Bayern I fancy they have a goal in them.

Over 2.5 total goals with both sides contributing is my play here.

Bets: Total goals and both teams to score?, over 2.5 and yes at 1.13/1 with BoyleSports

Real Madrid 18/10 Draw 5/2 Man City 1.45/1

Real were made to work harder than expected to go through 2-1 on aggregate against RB Leipzig. They won the first leg 1-0 away from home before playing out a 1-1 draw in Madrid.

Real Madrid came through their group with a 100% record, they had Napoli, who finished second, for company along with third placed Braga and Union Berlin were the also rans.

Real currently top La Liga, 8 points clear of Barcelona and they have lost just the 1 league game this season.

Real are trading at around 6/1 with BoyleSports to win the UCL this season and they are 15/10 to reach the semi finals.

City beat FC Copenhagen 6-2 on aggregate in the Round of 16, winning both legs by a 3-1 scoreline.

They also made short work of their group with a 100% record to finish 4 points clear of RB Leipzig with Young Boys third with 4 points and Red Star managed just a single point. City scored 3 goals in every away fixture in the group but only kept the 1 clean sheet.

Last season City pulled off a treble including this trophy, the EPL title and the FA Cup and they are currently third in the EPL, 1 point shy of Arsenal and Liverpool and they have also reached the FA Cup semi finals. Since losing a league game at Villa on 6th December City are unbeaten in all competitions.

City are trading at around 1.84/1 with BoyleSports to win the UCL this season and they are 5/10 to reach the semi finals.

When these teams met in the semi finals last season they drew 1-1 in Madrid and City were 4-1 winners in Manchester. In 2021/22 they also clashed in the semi's and Real went through 6-5 on aggregate thanks to a 3-1 win in the second leg in Madrid.

The Verdict:

A tricky match to call and whilst I'm not convinced we will see a bucket load of goals I will take my chances with Foden to pop up anytime after he was rested for a league game last weekend.

Bets: Anytime goalscorer Phil Foden at 11/4 with BoyleSports
