dortmundThe Uefa Champions League Round of 16 concludes on Wednesday with the second legs of the match ups between Dortmund and PSV and Atletico and Inter.

Dortmund 1.12/1 Draw 28/10 PSV 2.15/1

Donyell Malen gave Dortmund a first half lead in the first leg but a PSV penalty early in the second half squared things up and there was no further scoring.

In the group stage Dortmund recovered from losing their opening match 2-0 at PSG and then a 0-0 draw at home to Milan with 3 straight wins including a 2-0 victory at home to Newcastle. A 1-1 draw at home to PSG on Matchday 6 saw them top the group of death.

In the Bundesliga Dortmund are fourth but all of 20 points behind runaway leaders Leverkusen.

Luuk de Jong equalized from the spot for PSV in the first leg but they couldn't find a winner and all the key stats from the game were pretty even.

PSV also lost their opening group match 4-0 at Arsenal but went unbeaten after that and other results away from home delivered a 1-1 draw at Lens and a 3-2 win in Sevilla.

PSV are unbeaten in Eredivisie with 22 wins and 3 draws and they are 10 points clear at the top of the log.

The Verdict:

The odds in the betting markets suggest plenty of goals but I'm not so sure we will see an avalanche with so much at stake and the tie well balanced.

However PSV's Luuk de Jong would have to be on the radar for an anytime goalscorer pick and that will satisfy my betting interest.

Bets: Anytime goalscorer Luuk de Jong at 1.83/1 with BoyleSports

Atletico 1.83/1 Draw 23/10 Inter 1.52/1

Atletico went down 1-0 in Milan in a first leg where they battled to create any clear cut chances and the rode their luck before conceding a late goal.

Atletico were unbeaten in the group stage with 4 wins and 2 draws. They were foot perfect in Madrid with wins over Feyenoord (3-2), Celtic (6-0) and Lazio (2-0) with that win over Lazio providing their only clean sheet.

In La Liga Atletico are in fourth spot, 14 points behind leaders Real but they do have a formidable home record of 13 wins and 1 draw.

A 79th minute goal from Marko Arnautovic handed Inter a slender advantage from the first leg, making up for some wasted chances earlier in the game.

Inter were runners up to Man City last season and they remain unbeaten in the UCL in the current campaign. They came through their group with 3 wins and 3 draws and results away from home comprised of a 1-1 draw at Sociedad, a 1-0 win in Salzburg and a 3-3 draw at Benfica.

In Serie A Inter are on their way to the title with a 16 point lead. They have won 24 of 28 league games, drawing 3 and losing just the 1.

The Verdict:

Inter are not in the habit of losing football matches but Atletico's home record warrants respect and I can see this ending all square.
