RACE 1
RULES OF CONDUCT was a beaten odds-on favourite over 1400m on the polytrack last time. He finished a neck behind the winner over this distance in his penultimate outing. The son of Buffalo Bill Cody may enjoy the return to the turf and he can shed his maiden tag.
FYFIELD LEGEND was touched off in his last start over this distance on the polytrack. The son of What A Winter gets the cheekpieces fitted which should keep his mind on the task at hand. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
DANCING AMBER ran a fair race on debut over this C&D. She returns from an 11-week break, during which time she would have strengthened up. She is fitted with cheekpieces and should make the natural progression.
RACE 2
XTINES PRINCESS ran a creditable race when third in her local debut over this distance on the polytrack. The daughter of Kingman would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. She meets the right field and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
PRETTY AWESOME is an unraced daughter of Gimmethegreenlight from the Alan Greeff stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. Her mother, Pretty Young Thing was a five-time winner from 1200m to 1400m. If not in need of the run, she should start her career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
TRULY MAGICAL was not disgraced when third against the males over 1000m on the polytrack last time. She is back against her own sex and if confirming her recent improvement, she can show.
RACE 3
STONE OF SCONE tried hard when beaten a short-head over 1400m on this course last time. The daughter of Master Of My Fate was reported to be fatigued that day. Craig Zackey steps back into the saddle and she may be the one to side with.
POWER OF TIGER is better than her last start as she was reported to be not striding out. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. She makes her local debut and on best form shown, she should pose a threat.
AMONG THE WILLOWS is an unraced daughter of Buffalo Bill Cody from the Alan Greeff stable with Richard Fourie in the saddle. Her mother, Forest Field was a three-time winner from 1200m to 1400m. If not too green in running, she should give a good account of herself. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.
RACE 4
ROMAN AGENT is the top bet on the programme. He lost a length leaving the start in the Non-Black Type Fairview Flying Five last time, but finished off his race strongly. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Jockey Wayne Agrella knows him well and if getting away on terms, the combination should take a power of beating.
JOKER MAN finished 3 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough to turn the form around. The son of Vercingetorix may be the one to fill the exacta spot.
FOREST SPY stayed on when third over 1200m on the polytrack last time. Three of his six career victories have come over this C&D. The 6yo gelding cannot be discounted.
RACE 5
MARCHLAND is unbeaten from two starts over 1200m. She was an impressive winner in the Listed East Cape Fillies Nursery last time. The daughter of Malmoos returns from a 10-week break. She tries the 1400m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she can remain unbeaten.
OBSIDIAN STAR followed up her maiden win with an equally impressive victory over this distance on the polytrack. She finished 5.5 lengths behind the top choice on debut. The daughter of Hawwaam is a progressive type and can notch up the hat-trick.
MALIBU ICE made the expected natural improvement when winning her maiden over this C&D. The daughter of Malmoos is coming along the right way and should be involved at the finish.
Race 6
ZINOVI is one of the best bets on the programme. He was an easy winner of his last start over 1600m on the polytrack. The son of Heavenly Blue has won over this distance previously. He has won four times and finished third twice from as many starts on this course. He is versatile and can notch up the hat- trick.
KING REGENT showed some signs of a form return when fourth in the Grade 3 Champagne Stakes last time. He has won once and finished third once from four starts over this distance. If all went well with his travels, he can go close.
LANCIAFIAMME finished 2.35 lengths behind the top selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms and he may have to settle for the same result. He returns from a 10-week break, during which time he would have freshened up.
RACE 7
SHE’S MY WORLD showed some signs of needing her last start in the Grade 3 Champagne Stakes. She has won twice, finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this distance. The daughter of One World will strip much fitter and if all went well with her travels, she can notch up her fourth-career victory.
SONG OF MYSELF is better than her last start in the Grade 3 WSB Sycamore Sprint as she was reported to be not striding out. The daughter of Canford Cliffs is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. Calvin Habib steps back into the saddle and the combination merit healthy respect.
DANISH DYNAMITE finished 0.5 lengths behind PRISCILLA MAISEY last time. She is 6kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Erik The Red loves racing over this C&D and would not be a shock winner.
RACE 8
AMANATTO was an easy winner of her last start over 1400m on the polytrack. She has won once and finished second once from three starts on this course. The daughter of Danon Platina is in a good space and may be the one to side with.
GORGEOUS CAPE cost herself winning last time as she hung inwards throughout. She would have come on from the outing and should strip much fitter. If keeping on a straight line, she should fight out the finish.
FLOWER FESTIVAL challenged strongly last time, but found one too good in the form of Genovefa who has come out and won again since. With luck in running, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 9
PEDRO is better than his last start against stronger company as he was reported to be coughing. His last victory came over this C&D, three runs ago. The 7yo gelding is likely to be settled near the rear of the field, will be running on and can close the meeting.
RHYDIAN was touched off in his local debut over this distance on the polytrack. The son of Rafeef was reported to be not striding out that day. He will strip much fitter and from his good draw of three, he should pose a massive threat.
TEEREX was an easy winner of his last start over 1300m on the polytrack. He has won once and finished second once from as many starts on this course. 2.5kgs claiming Apprentice Bavish Soodoo steps back into the saddle and the combination merit healthy respect
