Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday 6th May where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
SIYABAMBELELA is lightly raced with good form to her name. She should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung inwards in the final 400m. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. Sean Veale is likely to use her early gate speed to overcome the wide draw, and in this field, she may be hard to peg back.
WEDDING VOW should have finished closer last time as she had no luck in running. Her penultimate run when beaten a short-head over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville, catches the eye. Andrew Fortune is booked to ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.
MISS DANON’S last two starts have been fair. She tries the blinkers which should keep her mind on the task at hand. With luck in running, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.
Race 2
WHATASTAR received a bump leaving the start over this C&D last time, but stayed on to finish fifth. She hails from the in-form Candice Bass stable. The daughter of What A Winter takes a drop back in class, and can return to winning ways.
DE GULDEN made the expected natural improvement when victorious over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. The daughter of One World takes on stronger and older rivals. She has plenty of scope and may be up to the task at hand.
LITTLEBLACKGEM ran on when fourth over this C&D last time. She should get a good run in transit from her good draw of two, and must be considered.
Race 3
DISTING ran a fair race in the Listed Windhoek Olympic Duel Stakes last time. She returns from a 14- week break which would have done her the world of good. On best form shown, she can win in this line- up.
CAPTAIN’S CHRISTY is better than her last two starts. Her last victory came over this C&D. On best form shown, she should pose a threat.
KYTHERA should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was steadied late. It must be noted that Buttercup Baby has come out and won again since. She will strip much fitter and with luck in running, she can go close.
Race 4
Trainer Glen Kotzen holds a strong hand in this contest and can saddle the first two past the post. TAKETHEGREENLIGHT was running on when fourth over 1600m on the turf last time. He will love the rise to 2000m. The son of Gimmethegreenlight is the stable elect and if taking to the polytrack, he can shed his maiden tag.
VIXENS WAR found one too good in the form of Vaans Spirit last time. The daughter of Act Of War tries the 2000m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she may fill the exacta spot.
PEEPING TOM was running on when second over 1800m on this course last time. He is in a good space and should be right there.
Race 5
MANY WATERS tried hard when second over this C&D last time. The son of Global View takes a drop in class. With a bit of luck from his awkward draw of nine, he can notch up his second-career victory.
CONNOISSEUR stayed on at the finish over 1400m on this course last time. The son of Canford Cliffs has dropped in the ratings and with Craig Zackey in the saddle, he can cause the surprise.
SHINY BOB ran on from last when second over 1900m on this course last time. The son of Flying The Flag has dropped to a competitive rating. Siphesihle Hlengwa retains the ride, and the combination merit healthy respect.
Race 6
CHILL IN THE AIR took a keen hold in the early stages of the Non-Black Type WSB Highland Night Cup last time, but finished off his race well. The son of What A Winter won his only attempt on this course. He takes a drop in class and is having his peak run. He jumps from pole position and can return to winning ways.
MASTER DU ROUVRAY won a good race over this C&D last time. He received a six- pound penalty for that victory. He is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
SYX HOTFIX stayed on when fourth over 2000m on the turf last time. He has won once, finished second twice and third twice from ten starts over this C&D. The son of Flower Alley always gives of his best and cannot be discounted.
Race 7
WORLD OF OUR OWN is a winner of his last two starts over this C&D. He lost a length leaving the start last time and ran on well at the business end. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming Apprentice Divesh Ramkhalawon which will assist his cause. He is in a good space and can notch up the hat-trick.
NEXT OF KIN has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He has won once and finished second once from three starts over this C&D. He should get a good run in transit from barrier two and merits healthy respect.
PIED PIPER finished 1.2 lengths behind the top selection last time. He is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result.
Race 8
JAZZ DIVA was squeezed leaving the start last time and stayed on to finish 1.25 lengths behind MYSTIQUE ROUGE. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish. The daughter of Master Of My Fate has cracked pole position and may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.
MYSTIQUE ROUGE was caught late when second over 1200m on this course last time. She is ideally at her best over shorter, but is in a good space and merits healthy respect.
GRUE OF ICE has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She was running on when third over 1200m on this course last time. With luck in running, she should be involved at the finish.
Race 9
ZOOMBOMBER stayed on when third over this distance on the Vaal Classic course last time. It must be noted that Time Is Precious has come out and won a Grade 3 since. He has won once, finished second four times and third once from eight starts on this course. He is carded to race on 29 April and 02 May 2025, and his progress in those races will need to be monitored.
CHARA SANDS is better than his last start on the turf. Four of his six career victories have come over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
CAPPELLINO stayed on when second over this trip last time. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he can return to winning ways
