Winning Form selections for @Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Monday 6th April where there are huge prizes available in the free to enter Punters Challenge
Race 1
ONE SPIRIT produced an encouraging debut effort over this C&D. He took time to find his feet, but stayed on at the business end. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of One World would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, he may be the one to side with.
VERCICAT’S last start is best ignored. He returns from a 12-week break, during which time he was gelded. The son of Vercingetorix has scope and if fit, he may be the one to fill the exacta spot. EARN
THE WEEKEND is an unraced son of Master Of My Fate from the Piet and Elbert Steyn yard with Sean Veale up. He is related to multiple winners including Love In Winter and Teflon Man. If not in need of the run, he should start his career on a positive note. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to him and the other first timers.
Race 2
BABELICIOUS ran a fair race in the Grade 3 SplashOut Prix Du Cap last time. She won a good race in the Listed Windhoek Olympic Duel Stakes over 1200m in her penultimate run. She gets the services of 2.5kgs claiming Apprentice Sifisokuhle Bungane which will assist her cause. If putting her best foot forward, she can notch up her sixth-career victory.
SYMPHONY IN WHITE was given a peach of a ride when winning the Listed Lady’s Pendant at Fairview last time. She is in a good space and is a solid back-up for the Candice Bass stable.
CALL ME SECRET finished 2.5 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 2.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around. She is a filly with scope and cannot be discounted.
Race 3
SEE THE SIGN showed good improvement when second in her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. She lost a length leaving the start and ran on at the business end. Gareth Wright retains the ride, and if confirming her recent improvement, she can go one better in this field.
WHO IS SHE finished 0.1 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair at the finish.
NICCI’S LAW was doing her best work late when fifth over this distance at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. She is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from her awkward draw, and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
Race 4
TIME FOR LOVE was an easy winner in the Grade 3 WSB Summer Fling Stakes last time. She raced from a handy position, showed a good turn of foot and drew clear of the opposition. She has won once, finished second once and third three times from eight starts over this distance. She is in a good space and can follow up with another victory.
LA PULGA was running on when second over 2000m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville last time. It must be noted that Tenpenny has come out and won again since. Should the top choice fluff her lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
KATSU finished 1.75 lengths behind the second selection last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
Race 5
SCOTTISH LINKS stayed on at the finish over 2000m last time, but found one too good in the form of Note To Self. He finished 1.15 lengths behind CHANCE ENCOUNTER in his penultimate run. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has cracked a good draw of three and may be the one to beat.
ERIC LIDDELL ran a fair race in the Listed Masks Of Fire Kenilworth Cup last time. He finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 3kgs worse off at the weights today and may battle to turn the form around.
CHANCE ENCOUNTER finished 0.5 lengths behind NOBLE HERO last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned.
Race 6
STORMWATCH raced from a handy position in the Grade 3 SplashOut Prix Du Cap last time, moved up before getting caught late by Princess Of Gaul. The daughter of Vercingetorix meets a similar line-up, she has class about her and may be the one to beat.
ROCCAPINA finished 1.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
SCARLET MACAW finished 2 lengths behind the top selection in the race referred to above. She is 1kg better off at the weights. The daughter of Horizon has cracked pole position, should get a good run in transit and cannot be discounted.
Race 7
LEGAL COUNSEL ran a cracker when second in the Grade 1 WSB Cape Town Met last time. He raced from a handy position, moved up well before getting outrun by See It Again. The son of Legislate has won twice from three starts over this distance. Aldo Domeyer retains the ride and the combination can go one better.
JET FORCE ran on from last when winning the Listed Play ‘N Go Jet Master Stakes last time. The son of Master Of My Fate has class about him and can bring up the hat-trick.
VIVA’S LIBERTE was not disgraced when third in the Grade 1 Lucky Fish Cape Derby last time. He drops back to 1600m and carries a handy galloping mass of 54kgs. He has plenty of scope and from pole position, he would not be a surprise winner.
Race 8
This is a competitive Class 4 field and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is RATTLESNAKE from the Candice Bass stable. He produced a strong late burst when winning his last start over 1000m on this course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He is in a good space and can follow up with another victory.
ONE LINER returns from a 12-week break which may have done him the world of good. He has won twice and finished third once from four starts over this C&D. Despite his big weight of 63kgs, he should pose a threat.
LADY LOOK ALIKE is a winner of her last two starts over 1250m at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. She received a three-pound penalty for her last victory. She is in a good space and should give the males a run for their money
