brighton1718Our featured English Premier League match taking place on Saturday sees Brighton face off with their main rivals Crystal Palace

Brighton

Brighton crashed and burned 4-0 away to Luton in midweek, conceding twice inside the first 3 minutes, a third before half time and a fourth after the break of what was a real horror show.

Brighton have won just 1 of their last 7 league games and have slid back towards the mid table area. They have made progress in the FA Cup with a barrage of goals, 4-2 away to Stoke and 5-2 away to Sheffield United

Palace

Palace have been under fire from their fans in recent times but 2 wins from the last 3 league games puts them 6 points clear of the drop zone. Eze and Olise recently returned from injury to provide creativity which was badly needed and they have won their last 2 home games, 3-1 against Brentford and in midweek 3-2 over Sheffield United. Either side of that they were thumped 5-0 at Arsenal.

On a cautionary note Eze and Olise both picked up knocks late on in the win over Sheffield on Tuesday and whilst they may well be fit to start, it will be worth monitoring the team news.

Recent Head to Head

The first league meeting this season took place at Selhurst Park just before Christmas and it finished 1-1

Interesting stat, 6 of the last 8 head to heads have also finished 1-1

The Betting

At the time of writing Brighton are trading at 7/10 to win the game with the draw priced at 3/1 and Palace can be backed at around 39/10

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 0.73/1 and it's a similar price for both teams to score

The Verdict:

Stats players will be interested in the draw and even the 1-1 correct score line and I wouldn't argue although if the 2 best attacking threats for Palace are fit I would give them a shout of taking at least a point and possibly all 3.

In the absence of team sheets I will go with 2-3 goals in total which has a great record of arriving in the head to heads.

If you want an anytime goalscorer then Eze, if he starts, would fit the bill

Bets: Goal Range 2-3 at even money with Playabets

Anytime goalscorer Eze at 3.75/1 with Playabets
