SpursStadiumEnglish Premier League action continues on Saturday 17th February and our focus is on Brentford v Liverpool, Burnley v Arsenal and Spurs v Wolves

Brentford 4/1 Draw 34/10 Liverpool 6/10

Brentford came away from Wolves with a most welcome 2-0 win last weekend and they now have 6 points worth of daylight over third bottom Everton. A run of 2 wins and 9 defeats in their previous 11 league games had seen them slide down the table but Toney's return from a lengthy ban has given them a boost and after losing losing their most recent home game 3-1 to Manchester City they now take on the league leaders. Brentford drew 4 of their first 7 league games and they haven't finished all square since.

Liverpool's 3-1 home win over Burnley last week saw them finish the round 2 points clear of Manchester City and Arsenal (City have a game in hand). Prior to that they were beaten in London, 3-1 by Arsenal, just their second EPL loss of the season after going down 2-1 at Spurs early in the campaign. Mo Salah is reportedly back in training after pulling a hamstring in the AFCON with Egypt, watch the media for news as to whether he has recovered enough to play any part here.

The Verdict

On their day Brentford are capable of giving Liverpool a decent contest but they were outplayed by City here recently and I won't be calling a surprise.

For a betting interest I quite like the Price Boost for both Ivan Toney and Darwin Nunez both to have over 1.5 shots on target each

Bets: Ivan Toney and Darwin Nunez both to have over 1.5 shots on target each was 7/2 now 4/1 with Sportingbet

Burnley 8/1 Draw 9/2 Arsenal 1/3

Time is running out for Burnley who are second bottom and 7 points from safety. They have won just 3 league games all season and only 1 of their last 10 has ended in victory. A 5-0 win over Sheffield United is their only home win so far and since beating Fulham 2-0 away from home they have drawn 2 and lost 4. To be fair 2 of those defeats came against Liverpool and the other 2 away to Villa and Man City.

Arsenal again boosted their title hopes with a 6-0 hiding of West Ham away from home last week. Prior to that they were 3-1 winners at home to Liverpool and after a wobble at the turn of the year they have reeled off 4 straight league wins, scoring 16 goals in the process. As far as the title race is concerned the Gunners are level on points with Man City and 2 shy of leaders Liverpool (City have a game in hand).

The Verdict

It's hard to argue with Arsenal here and I expect them to win the game but Burnley have at least contributed to the scoring in their last 5 fixtures even though they have taken on the likes of Liverpool (twice), City and Villa. Fofana looks a talent up front and gets my vote to register anytime.

Arsenal have been sharing the goals around recently although Odegaard is overdue and I will pin my hopes on him scoring in this one.

Bets: Anytime goalscorer David Fofana at 7/2 with Sportingbet

Anytime goalscorer Odegaard at 32/10 with Sportingbet

Spurs 0.57/1 Draw 7/2 Wolves 4/1

Spurs conceded first but eventually came through with a 2-1 home win over Brighton last week with the decisive goal coming deep into injury time. They finished the round in fourth spot, 1 point clear of Villa and 5 shy of Arsenal and Man City. Recent road trips to Man United and Everton both ended 2-2 although Spurs were unlucky not to take maximum points from both those matches.

Wolves have lost in form striker Cunha to injury, a major blow after they had won 4 of their last 7. They are comfortable in mid table and were 4-2 winners away at Chelsea recently but they also lost 4-3 at home to Man United at the start of the month and they have conceded 8 times in their last 3 league games.

The Verdict

Wolves turned Spurs over 2-1 in the first league meeting this season but the absence of Cunha will make an already tough assignment even harder. Spurs have welcomed a whole host of players back from injury and international duty and the coach now has a wealth of options in midfield. I think that will bolster Spurs and although they are sure to continue with an ultra positive approach, I'm backing them to win with a clean sheet, 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0.

Bets: Multiple correct score 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 to Spurs at 3/1 with Sportingbet
