Arsenal 0.47/1 Draw 36/10 Brighton 5.25/1

Arsenal lost top spot on the log when they went down 1-0 away to Aston Villa last weekend. That was just their second league defeat of the season with the other also being a 1-0 loss away to Newcastle. The Gunners have won 6 of 8 league games at the Emirates, dropping points in 2-2 draws against Fulham and Spurs.

Arsenal finished the previous round in second spot, 1 point behind Liverpool, 2 ahead of Villa and 3 better off than Man City, note Villa and Man City both play on Saturday.

Brighton made it through to the last 16 of the Europa League in midweek with a 1-0 home win over Marseille. Their last 2 EPL road trips were 5 goal thrillers, a 3-2 win at Forest and a 3-2 loss at Chelsea. Earlier visits to top 6 sides saw Brighton win 3-1 at Manchester United and they lost 2-1 at Manchester City whilst a visit to Aston Villa saw them crash and burn 6-1. Brighton finished the previous round in eighth position with 26 points, 7 shy of a top 4 spot.

The Verdict

Brighton won this fixture 3-0 last season which at the time was a major blow to Arsenal's hopes of winning the title. The visitors are the darlings of scoring and conceding in league games and that trend could easily extend here.

I'm looking for goalscorers and a couple of midfielders fit the bill, Odegaard for Arsenal and I like the price for Pascal Gross to pop up for Brighton

Bets: Anytime goalscorer Odeagaard at 22/10 with Sportingbet

Anytime goalscorer Pascal Gross at 8/1 with Sportingbet

Liverpool 3/10 Draw 5/1 Man United 7.25/1

Liverpool were 2-1 winners at Palace last weekend with another late goal turning what looked likely to be 1 point into 3. In their most recent home game they came from 3-2 down to beat Fulham 4-3 to extend their 100% EPL record at Anfield this season to 7 matches. Their only league defeat this season came 2-1 at Spurs and their fans won't need reminding that when these teams met at Anfield last season Liverpool served up a 7-0 hiding to United.

A 1-0 home defeat to Bayern on Tuesday ended any hopes of a UCL last 16 place for United and worse still they finished bottom of their group and also missed out on a shot at the Europa League. After a dire performance in a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth last weekend United finished the round in sixth position, 6 points off a top 4 spot and a record of 9 wins and 7 defeats which means they are the only top flight side not to have drawn a league game this season.

The Verdict

When visiting the stronger sides this season United have lost at Spurs (2-0), Arsenal (3-1) and Newcastle (1-0) , they also came unstuck at home to Manchester City (3-0) and I'd be surprised if they can hold Liverpool even though Klopp's side have, at times, made hard work of taking maximum points.

United picked up a couple more knocks in midweek and Fernandes is suspended and I expect Liverpool to be in the goals. Hopefully Alexander Arnold will be one of those to oblige

Bets: Anytime goalscorer Alexander Arnold at 5/1 with Sportingbet
